They really destroyed their greens when they put the wrong fertilizer on it. #10 was totally gone, and several others were mostly gone. But they seem to have invested in a lot of sod, and with the deal on their site good until the end of 2020, it's a solid deal - it'll be back in good shape at some point.

18 Hole Course Conditions 11/10: In early July, we made a mistake on a herbicide application. The result was some of the greens on the 18 Hole Course were damaged. Since then, we have repaired much of the affect areas with Sod and Seed. The recovery is not 100% complete, but we will re-sod areas that still need it in the spring.

 

I'd like to play there with you guys just to help support them. Auto 2 putt? No problem!

Stony Creek is the closest public course to my house (would love to get on Sagamore some day, which is a private club across the street). 6-8 minutes from garage to first tee, including paying. So I'm down whenever. I usually just run over there when I'm working during the day and no one else wants to or can get out in the afternoon. Its got a couple screwy holes (13, 18) but it's not a bad track and it's usually in decent shape. Can't play it for a while after excessive rain though as it does flood pretty easily.

Gonna sneak out tomorrow (Friday) around 130 in the Muncie area, weather permitting, if anyone wants to join in. No clue where would be open.

We played Pebble Brook North yesterday. It’s was very soggy, but the greens had been rolled and ran comically fast for December. Great weather too!

Well...based on my phone calls...nothing...lol. Although Crestview in Muncie is usually open...but not crazy about it. I'm not opposed to Purgatory or anywhere as I can leave work whenever Friday. Weather permitting of course.

What do you believe is the best opening hole in town? I like royal hylands par 5 the best. I have eagled it once in all the times I've been playing it, but the hope is always there to do it again. I have taken many big numbers going onto the second tee box after facing this opening monster. It requires a precise drive that cannot miss left or right. It also requires a nice second shot down a chute into a multi-tiered green if you decide to go after it in two. There is also an option to lay up with an iron and hit a wedge into a well guarded green.
