I played Sarah Shank on the south side of town today with an old friend. Excellent greens. Rest of the course is ok, but the greens are truly great for a muni. Worth a shot if you like very good and tough greens.

Played Buffer Park this morning. Really nice little nine hole track on the southwest side. Conditioning was really good and greens were pretty good other than a few spots here and there, but I’m pretty sure that’s about everywhere.

Played it this evening, great little track lots of neat holes that you wouldn’t expect in the city. It and it’s sister course pleasant run are some of my favorite courses in the circle. Greens were quick today and lead to more than one three jack

Has anyone heard anymore about gray eagle closing? I am not sure what the next domino to fall will be. It seems like RN Thompson courses have been in rough shape all year from everything I've played and read. Does anyone know if they are having financial trouble or if gray eagle is the only place closing its doors?

Got out to Trophy Club one last time today, it was a beautiful day out there with a little wind. Greens were pretty fast today, missed a few more 3-6 footers than I would like to admit. Probably my last round in the Indy area unless I am back down visiting again.

I had the chance to play Ulen the other day, and it was a great little track with excellent customer service. The course had an awesome early 20th century feel to it which was a great change of pace from the golf boom courses I usually play. The greens were a bit top dressed with sand as they punched them the week before, but they still rolled really well. I can imagine in full force the putting surfaces at Ulen can be formidable.

I've heard that Gray Eagle is closing at the end of the 2019 season. They should be able to get $4 million or so for the corner where the range and clubhouse are. Some of the non-flooding areas of the course will probably become housing. The course is poorly designed in my opinion, which is why it never thrived even with it's prime location. Some blame the conditioning, but I think the design is the bigger issue by far. The community will definitely miss the range, though. Especially the school teams.

Does anyone know when the Bloomington course is supposed to be done? Last I read it was next spring, but driving past it last month things looked far from ready.

They ruined their greens by applying the wrong fertilizer around July 4, but they should be back sometime next year. Price is below their twilight rate too, and it's a decent mid-tier course.

Wildcat Creek in Kokomo has a good deal for 99$ right now for their "Prestige Card". Lots of golf on it for both Wildcat and Chippendale for anyone that is close enough to get their moneys worth on it.
