My Snell MTB REDs were delivered yesterday. I hit several pitch/chip shots around the practice green today and couldn't believe how much spin they were giving me. I was testing them against the Taylormade TP5's I'd been using and they definitely have less roll out. I could chip a little more aggressively with the SNELL RED and has no issue getting it to stop.

My yellow MTB Reds arrived yesterday and were put in play today . . . I'm in love (no, not with you, Dean, but with the ball).

Thanks, it's a dandy!

Can you kindly tell us in detail? Any dislike factor?

Yeah, his accent can be hard to understand sometimes.

P.S. Oh you meant the ball, not Dean!

I'm a geezer. Every ball goes 200 off the tee, but I, in common with some other geezers, lean on my short game to win the dollar Nassau. So, urethane is good. Nice yellow keeps (usually) my geezer fellow-competitors from playing my ball.

I've got about 5 rounds in with the new MTB Red and I'm very impressed. I haven't noticed any change in distance off the tee and I think this is what Dean has said but the shots around the greens have been great for me when I make good contact with the ball. I've been able to have some check with the chips and with my full wedge shots they stop really nice and soft for me. The course I've been playing is hard to lose balls so I've given it a good test for durability and that has impressed me. I think I should order some more before I head north the end of next month. It sure suits my game.

Yeah if I ever wanted to rig a ball comparison, I could just let “Bubba” hit the ball that I wanted to win.

I might suck on the first swing but that guy Bubba who shows up when I drop the second ball? That dude is pretty good!

My two boxes of red and black are sitting there mocking me. Trip got canceled and it snowed again last night!

I feel your pain! I have a box of the reds that I'm dying to take the course, but we are going through the coldest, rainiest season we may have ever had.

I’ll be doing a full review of the MTB and the MTB Black. I switched the first time every trying the MTB back a bunch of years ago, so long ago I can’t remember. I know they are just a newer version but I’m curious if I still need a lower compression ball or if I’ve got my swing speed up enough to compress.

You can't remember back to 2015 when Dean started the company !!??? :) Just bustin' your chops. I wouldn't worry about compression and swing speed. IMO, compression is more about feel. Dean will correct me if I'm wrong.

I do not believe the designer of those balls would agree with the notion that you "need a lower compression ball" or that "swing speed up enough to compress" is required at all.

Dean's past comments have been pretty firmly in the camp of compression being just one element a designer uses to create the ball's overall performance, not something that matches up with clubhead speed.

Correct, I don't keep track of when companies go into business. I remember I was in the Middle of Nebraska Chop Hills and I grabbed out a new sleeve in a tournament round and crushed it and said, wow that felt way better than what I was playing at the time (callaway something)

Waiting for my sampler, high hopes for a yellow ball I like around the greens

hoping Snell gets bigger and have no problem producing yellow MTB Black.

hmmm.....

I think Dean's "hmmmm" is his way of saying that the MTB Black will be available in yellow. I'm guessing sooner rather than later.

IMO, Dean will make color MTB black if there is enough (LOTTA) demand to offset the additional cost .

Since, there is no yellow Pro V1 - you'd think the market is wide open and now is the time to grab market share.
