Slow swing speeds, what driver do you use?

What's the definition of slow swing speed?

 

Good question. In my book SLOW = under 85 . SLOWER = 85-90 .

 

Anybody over 90 please refrain from posting on here!

 

I am around 87 and play a Wishon 919 THI 11° driver with a A-flex shaft.

 

Looking to try a G400 max once the price reduces a bit....

 

Consider me SLOWER.

Can roll it out to about 230 on a great day. Don't get much roll out here in the Northeast on the courses I play.

I am also on the "slower" side, I found lighter shaft and more loft helps, I think many slow swingers could benefit from more loft. I am playing my Rogue at 12.5 degrees.

You're probably a flex too soft. And 87 is NOT "slow". It's probably around "average" and it's in the "regular" range.

 

That said, a flex more or less probably isn't as important as shaft weight.

You're probably right-I suppose could swing a R flex.

 

My A flex shaft is an Aldila NV 55 lime green which has a somewhat stiffer tip section. Also my swing is rather smooth so this A flex fits me well.

Mine is around 95 . I use 9.5 Titleist 913 D3 or a m2 at 10.5 or a Cleveland Classic 310 9.5 all with a regular flex.

Low 90’s swing speed,I use a 12* Bertha Mini driver with a s 44” stuff shaft. It allows me to swing like I was hitting a 5 iron and it goes as far as any “real” driver I’ve tried.

Today's shafts are so good you can use an A flex and not worry about it getting loose for slower players. I am using a Mamiya Recoil F2 and it is excellent.

96 mph I use a 9.5 M4 with a regular flex accra shaft at 45.5 inches.

It’s funny how how that works out for individuals.

 

I had to tell the store attendant that I am the exception to get the services I wanted.

 

I learned that 55 grams shafts were the culprit for my high spin rate (4000+ rpm) which equates to losses of 75 yards.

 

Ended up with the Tensei White Non-Pro, 75 grams, Stiff Flex, Tipped 1” to 45.5” OAL stock length and was finding the sweet spot all day with penetrating fades vs blocks. I like to work the ball from the left side of the course.

 

I have a level/neutral launch but my rpm’s are between 2500-3000 rpm which equates to 215 yards of carry but 50 yards or more of roll out at times.
