The Woodlands in October

Hi all,

 

Been to Houston a million times to visit my sister's family but oddly enough, never thought about playing golf while there. Not going to bring my clubs for one round so will need to rent.

 

Did some searching and I've come up with either Woodforest or August Pines for public courses near the west side of The Woodlands. Don't want to fight I45 traffic.

 

Have I missed anything obvious?

 

Could potentially reciprocate but doubt anyone would be venturing out my way from Texas.

Woodforest is definitely the better option. I played Augusta Pines a few weeks ago and the fairways were burnt out. Lots of hitting off dirt from a fairway.

 

If you don't mind a little further drive, look into High Meadow Ranch. I played there on Monday and that course is in awesome shape. It is a fun track also. I have played their twice in the past two months and that may be my new favorite course.

High Meadow Ranch gets my vote. I played there Sunday and we will be joining there before the end of the month. It’s about a 45 minute drive for me but the quality of the course combined with the ridiculously low monthly membership rate, it’s worth every minute of driving.

Oh nice, I've never come across that one before. My sister is on the western edge of The Woodlands so it's probably not much of a drive. Thanks!

Gotcha and ya I am escaping to Vancouver in a couple weeks for 10 days as well. Sounds like a round at Balgownie might be easier ;)

Gotcha and ya I am escaping to Vancouver in a couple weeks for 10 days as well. Sounds like a round at Balgownie might be easier ;)

Just got to Houston last night. Anyone know how much it is approximately to rent clubs? I looked on Woodforest and Augusta Pines websites but couldn't find anything. Hoping not much more than $40ish bucks =) (The Canadian dollar sucks right now)
