for future reference, the only acceptable "Hive" answer is something along rhe lines of "sure. I've been playing. I'm using that 8 degree sldr with the x stiff that's been sitting in my basement along with that 6 wood I thought would fill a gap. For irons I pulled out the Cleveland blades I thought would help me work the ball a little better a couple years back that I couldn't resell for more than 50 bucks. I've got several wedges sitting around and I borrowed an odyssey tank 7 with the new Stroke Lab shaft from the pro shop and I think I'm gonna buy it. "

 

Haha. Well I did make it out to Hivemore right before Christmas and played pretty good so I figure I’m good for a little break to refresh the swing. I’ll be planning on testing the M5 when I get a chance and get to swinging again soon.

Golf channel just showed BDC with a device called the quintex system and a launch monitor ON THE PUTTING GREEN to determine how length of swing relates to ball speed and distance on a level putt. He makes calculations off that baseline to adjust for slopes.

I’ve never done either but I imagine the answer is no.

 

Eagle - why didn’t you procure a community hit?

 

As far as the one and done goes, if anyone picks the winner, that will bode very well moving forward. 1.3 milli is 1.3 milli. It’s a long season though. Last year in this format with 34 entries winner had 7.2 milli at the end of the year.

I’ve walked PB Dye. It’s not that bad if you walk a lot. Green to tee is never too far. The only thing that bit me was that there are some blind drives, so if you aren’t sure it’s clear it’s a long walk to check. I had to walk up to check on the 12th hole, which was close to 100 yards each way.

Thanks. It’s been a while since I played that course and always took a cart.

Funny story now but I had a little encounter with a large snake on the fairway bunker with the railroad ties and took 6 shots to get to the hole.

In case anyone was wondering, I've sufficiently extracted all the remaining THC from my sweater, taken a nap, and am now wide awake.

Groundhog Day is the morning of the golf expo this year. I know Goose and a couple other guys have been out there on Saturday in the past - anyone that wants to meet up DC2 and I will be at Chick fila for breakfast usually a half hour or so before they open.

 

Unfortunately the course at MV is closed the next couple weeks but heading out to the range to get some practice time in. Grabbing the 10.5* M3 head to try and test out some more higher launching drives this year. Have been going through some of my Trackman data from the last month and - not surprising to me or anyone thats played with me - but I still launch the driver super low and get relatively low carry off of it. This was really noticeable in a weather year like this. And in watching some recent driver tests online, I should still be able to get good carry numbers with right @ 160 mph ball speed. If we get half decent weather the next couple months - and really why would we with our luck the last 12 months - but I'll probably head out to Westfields to do a real fitting.
