I'd be in if my wife gave me the pass, and like you said, prison is white collar and I am not somebody's you know what or getting shanked daily. I make 2-3 putts, then put my time in and then down to Pinehurst for retirement living the good life. But my two questions:

 

1. Do I get to putt with the flag in?

2. Is that money tax-free?

If yes to both, then I am in...

I’m with you on this one. Also headed down to Augusta for Wednesday’s practice round/par 3 contest.

 

Going down with wife, so won’t be playing too much golf, but weather pending will be getting rounds in near Atlanta (chateau elan) and Athens (university of Georgia course). I grew up playing the Penn State Golf courses and so am always eager to see other college golf courses.

 

Really excited to share the par 3 experience with my wife, her dad, and my brother in law (sisters brother). Attended a practice round back in 2005, and won the lottery this year.

 

The magic of the place is breathtaking so mmorable...hope you have a good time ceejay. And enjoy the time in pinehurst too...!

Flagstick in. I am thinking from 5 feet I'd make 3 out of 5. So 30mil for 2 years, get out and not have to work for the next 30 years... Or at the least work part-time at a place like the starter shack at the Cradle to buy the milk and bread. This is if I was single though.

 

4 years for 10mil hypothetical I wouldn't buy into, but that wouldn't show much confidence in my putting if that's what I thought would be my final outcome. Honestly, if I thought I was only going to make one, I wouldn't try. I think 3 is the magic number. That's about $42K a day to sit in jail. I could justify that and catch up on reading.

I was originally going to say no chance to the putt/jail time dilemma. Then I remembered that The Count of Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books/movies, and Edmond Dantes basically went from a nobody to a crazy sophisticated badass because of some jail time. He started out as an ok sailor, and turned into a super wealthy Count who was also a talented duelist, professional pirate, cunning linguist, etcetc. Also, his son later turned out to be Superman in the most recent DC movies. So really, it seems dumb NOT to take the challenge.

This is funny because Fabb (probably) listened to Elkington today because I was telling stories from that episode on the course yesterday.

 

The whole podcast is worth it just for the "custard" story. The whole thing is good, though. And the periodic tron bombs make it all the funnier. He's like Ralph Wiggum in The Simpsons going, "Sooo, do you like...stuff?"

I loved the Elk episode. I’ve heard all of those stories before. Any who follows Elk knows those are his go to stories. But they are hilarious every time. The Pepperell pod was also very good. Really made me a fan of his. Matt Wolfe was not as good probably because he is younger and I’m sure he’d be a better guest after 10 years on tour.

Elk episode was great even though he is a pretty big doucher in general. Epic stories though. Tron really is maybe 1.5 steps up from being a walking vegetable. He’s like the Austin Johnson of the podcast scene.

 

My Masters trip pales in comparison to Ceejays but we’re hitting UNC Finley on the way down Sunday, Monday practice round, and winging a round coming back Tuesday. I’m pushing for somewhere in the southern VA area, Mattaponi, independence, or something like that. Suggestions welcome.

I basically learned to play golf at the UGA course so I have a soft spot for it. That was right when they finished the renovations about 12 years ago. It's a nice course and not a bad walk (if that is your thing). Some of the holes can be a little boring (like 1, 10, and 18) but it's fun. Conditions back then were always great. They have a sweet range.

If we weren't going to play in Charlotte on Thursday, we were going to take a different route and play the Dye River Course at VA Tech.

 

Enjoy the Monday practice round! I was there last year on Monday and it is simply amazing. You'll get the first crack at all the best merchandise, too.

I like people. In the past I’ve not enjoyed Eddie p. I’ve gotten a “I’m smarter than you vibe”. I didn’t at all in the most recent NLU pod. He came across way more humble and like a guy that’d be awesome to have a drink or round with. He’s definitely a pessimistic dark thinker and I’m the opposite but what Ev. We’re all wired differently.
