Yeah that what it looks like. So is this stage gets you full Symetra tour status if you make it through, right? A current college players can go to the Q-series and differ LPGA status till the summer as amateurs if they get by the Q-series, I think that's how it works

Yes, any player completing all 72 holes will have Symetra Tour status (based on their finish) for the 2019 season. The number of players advancing to the final stage, Q-Series, is TBD.

Well I guess the logic with the college amateurs is if you can do it gives you status. If you have a great week and hit a top 10 you're probably good for keeping your card. Then at worst you have symetra status next season if you are unable to get through the Q-series again, plus you go right to the Q-series and don't have to go to stage I or Stage II again.

Anyone finishing 11-30 on the final Symetra money list goes straight to the Q series even though they’re listed in the Stage II field.

College players can defer and join the LPGA on July 1st, but that doesn’t give them much time.

Weird. Why would a player pay $4000 for Stage II when they're automatically berthed into Q-Series?

Looking at the Stage II field criteria, it says Symetra Tour members ranked 1 - 125. 'Same question. Why would a top ten ranked Symetra Tour player go through Q School when they're automatically given an LPGA card?

The Stage II entry deadline was August 13, 2018; there're uncertainties because 8 out of 21 tournaments were yet to be played for 2018 season.

Also, $4000.00 is small investment for a chance to make millions of dollars on LPGA tour. MBA's spend $160,000 for 2 years, and the payoff may not be as great as LPGA.

There’s probably a refund for those that end up not having to play Stage II.

Here are the early entries for the Q-series.

Surprised at how many of the 101-150 aren’t entered.

To be fair not many make millions on the LPGA

Now that Symetra is over and the entry deadline for the Q-series is tomorrow, Oct 9th, this is being updated with a lot of the Symetra 11-30. The Collegiate Top-5 are all entered.

It's quite the gauntlet to run just to get back onto the LPGA Tour. I recognize quite a few names on the list of Stage II exempt players, including some Olympians (Xi Yu Lin, Nanna Madsen,) a Solheim Cupper (Emily Pedersen), and Cheyenne Woods.

Aren't they technically trying to stay on the tour? The LPGA players ranked 101 - 150, e.g. Cheyenne Woods, are fighting to keep their cards. A few other notables include Mel Reid, Julieta Granada, Olafia Kristinsdottir, Erynne Lee, and Paula Reto.

Entries for Q-Series are closed.

With 62 players entered and the field capped at 108, 46 and, I assume, ties will advance from Stage II.

Looks like Lucky 6, Jeong Eun Lee, has decided to take a crack at the LPGA. She's the only KLPGA player I recognize on the entry report.

I gotta say I don't agree with the tour's entry criteria. The 19th ranked player in the world has to earn a card, but the 256th ranked player in the world keeps her card because she was 100th on the money list.

Lucky 6 is trying hard to bypass Q-School by winning KEB Hana Bank; but it backfired and she ballooned to +5 on day 1.

I'm disappointed that not more world Top 75 took the opportunity to enter Q-Series. The odds are good; at least 45 will gain some kind of LPGA status with 108 or less entrants.

Well Stage II starts this weekend and it just surprised the heck out of me to see Allison (Alison) Lee. WOW how far has she fallen. I would think she would be an automatic qualifier for the Q Series, guess not

She hasn’t played well abd iirc she missed time for an injury and also school commitments.

LPGA players ranked 101 through 150 automatically qualify for Q Series. Alison was ranked 155, so Stage II it is. $12,054 for 16 starts is a rough season.

And partying commitments

Her decision to go to college and really throw herself into the whole college kid lifestyle was always a head scratcher for me. She wasn’t elite at the time but seemed to be close to putting enough good rounds together to win something.

Now it’d surprise me if she gets back to the LPGA Tour in the next two years. The competition is more fierce than ever.

I’ll grant her that she’s had injuries and overbearing parents and is allowed to have fun, but #21 in the world is not reflective of where her abilities should have her

Perhaps you're correct. Based on her swing and major results as a mid teen it seems lacking. But then based on her current swing and comments from posts it would be overachieving! :)

So only 46 (and ties?) of the 195 will move on? Yikes.

I'm rooting for a few ladies but I don't want to jinx them, hopefully they get over their bad first rounds.
