I played there on Thanksgiving. Was in much better shape compared to last year.

I played Cedar Crest about 10 days before the tournament, and then again after. its in the best shape its been in at least 18 months. Hopefully they keep it going its a great course.

Played Tribute Golf Links for the first time in 2 years. Course was in excellent shape and tough with the cold temps and 20mph wind gusts coming off the lake. Looks like the cart paths took an absolute beating from the summer drought as much of it was broken up severely.

Rangers course in solid shape given weather conditions, always enjoy seeing green this time of the year. Layout is always fun and not too punishing, although those greens just always seem to run a little slow. 
 

I’m assuming around the time of the KFT event they get those greens a little faster.

I've got a spot open for an 11:28 tee time at Sherrill Park #1 this Saturday the 13th. Couldn't book as a single so I went ahead and booked a twosome with the intent of cancelling in a few days but thought I'd post here first. DM me.

Saw the same for Indian Creek.  Frisco Lakes and Trails of Frisco look to be doing the same as well as both are closing today at noon.

Yep. I played yesterday and hit the range today. Think golf will be shut down for the next week + in the metroplex.

Just finished the peninsula in California with @gs1184 and bummed no local golf for 2 weeks plus.

Nice!  It should be in the 50's on Thursday so not 2 weeks but it will be chilly.

Working nights makes frost delays my enemy. If im not out by 9 it wont work needing to be done by 130 at the latest.

Nothing worse than leaving California paradise and returning to the North Pole. Didn’t want to leave my hotel room.

Pebble Beach is just phenomenal. There are just not enough adjectives to describe my experience there. We played Spyglass Hill, Pebble beach and Pasatiempo. We were supposed to play Spanish Bay but got rained out.

I called in to cancel the extra spot at Sherrill Park but they told me the course (#1) was closed because the greens were covered. So you guys were right.

 

However course #2 is still open. I'm assuming since they're closing it off in a few days for renovations anyways they didn't go through the effort of covering the greens.

This sucks, grass and soil will be frozen for about 8 days straight. A lot will die regardless of covers. Furk.

Low 40's on Wednesday but courses probably not completely thawed out.

Low 50's on Thursday. Keep fingers crossed. 

Back to 30's Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 

Then possible rain for next 6 days.

My boss and I snuck out at 850 today to beat the weather forecast again. We finished in 2:30 and Waterchase was in great shape

Good for you guys finding a course that was open. I think most still have the greens tarped. My course is range only through the 21st.

We have bent greens and our course did not open until 1:00 today.

Must have been busy....

 

Only thing i could find open was the Fields par 3 and putting green.   While fun it was not the same.  They actually uncovered all their greens today and were watering but are going to cover them back this evening.

Noticed DCC’s greens were not covered when driving by all week, anyone know why? Do you not need to cover bent?

Nope, not at all. Bent loves and thrives in the cold. That's when it is at its best. Only problem like North Texas posted above is that without covering the soil freezes and you have to wait for the top 1/2 inch or so thaws out to be playable, otherwise it is harder than concrete. We finally opened ours this afternoon as well. More because the fwys were frozen solid and didn't want people destroying wrists hitting that. In Japan they play on frosty bent every day, no problems or damage in the winter.
