Titleist 710mb. Any love? Anybody Still Gaming?

What are your thoughts on Titleist 710mbs? There doesn't seem to be alot of interest in these irons. Thanks.

Fine irons, but not sure why there would be more interest in a 10 yr, 5 generation old set of irons.

Fair point. These are old. It just seems like they weren't highly sought after when released or afterwards like some other cult clubs like 680s, 690s or likes of Mizuno MPs32s, or Nike VR Pros. I know alot of people that player older blades and wanted to see if the 710s would be a good set at a cheap price to play with today.

I still game these irons, bought brand new when released originally. Small custom and new grips are all they’ve had in nearly 10 years

But I don't think most consider the 710's in the same class as those other clubs. Certainly not the 680s or 32's, and most (here) would consider Nike's forged clubs very underrated. I have sets of 660s, 33's and MB2 Raws, and none of which I would trade for 710s.

I still play them. Like them a lot, but the temptation to try something else just because, is growing.

Not to threadjack but I still game my 712s, in fact I'm just having them reshafted away from the S300s to some KBS Tour-V shafts to combat how head heavy they've become as I've gotten a bit older and slower. Do the 712s compare favourably to the 710s?

 

Edit....just realised I need to update my sig, I sold the 718CBs and replaced with 718AP2s...again, because they're too head heavy. The 712s are in the backup/travel bag now.

I agree blades never go out of style. But are the 710s any better or worse than other blades?

I have played mine off and on. Mostly on since they came out. I think part of it is mine are perfect for me. Everything about them. I've never had a set feel this perfect.

Titleist player didn't have a good ring to me!!

My next set will most likely be the MP20 MMC. I played the MP 5 for two years. Then back to the 710's.

 

But yes. The 710 are awesome clubs.

I still play my 710mb 7-pw. Any performance difference between 710mb and Mizuno mp20 or m20mmc for those that have hit both ?? Thinking it’s time for an upgrade as these are about 10 years old.

I would say definitely with the MMC. Different sole camber and bounce. Larger sweet spot. Behind the ball they look like blades. Feel amazing.

Don't let the strong lofts dissuade you. With a lower CG they need stronger lofts to control flight.

I hit my 710 7 iron 170-174 full. MMC were about 8-10 longer.

I was surprised to learn that A. Scott used the 710s in his ‘13 masters win before going back to his 680s.
