Cleveland 588 wedge

My last 588 with zip grooves is almost beat to death. Is there anything out there that has a similar shape to the original 588 wedge? Every wedge I see now has a somewhat rounded front edge that just doesn’t suit my eye and I don’t hit them well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the RTX4 looks very similar to my old 588 just a little smaller head.

You can still get remakes of the original 588 at TGW.

If you're looking for non-rounded front edges then I would look at Taylormade MG or MG2 wedges. They've always had a straighter front edge to my eye. However, they also have a boxier overall appearance.

Another option is to go through Vokey WedgeWorks and get a couple raw SM8. They have some hand-ground options, one of which is a straight leading edge. This is the most expensive route, but could help you get dialed into exactly what you're looking for?

I played 588 for years and then switched fo Vokey and never experienced much of a difference. I currently have SM7 (waiting for SM8 to arrive) and they are pretty classic shapes.

On a separate note, don't you think Cleveland could make a nice profit just putting the old 588 back into production? People would still buy new ones every couple of years. And the tech really hasn't changed much (despite what the manufacturers say).

Honestly I did not know that. Are those conforming? not that I really care. The main thing for me is the feel of the older 588s. The closest thing I have found in feel and looks that is modern is some of the Mizuno T- Series
