Has anyone seen or heard about these. I’ve only been able to find one person who actually has one

Project X had an Instagram giveaway with this shaft.  They didn't really provide any details about it other than it's a prototype shaft.

@kyle75 Yeah I won it, I’m trying to find out if anyone knew specs on it, launch characteristics just any info at all that would be beneficial to helping it be a playable fun shaft

It's our new prototype for people who want to try longer driver shafts.

 

The 5.5 and 6.0 are lighter weight, low 50 grams, the TX part is a longer version of our Smoke RDX 60gr TX part.

 

All have stiff tips and more importantly stiffer midsections. We have found that parts with softer mid sections don't work too well at longer lengths.

 

These will become widely available around the beginning of February.

Can you tell us if there are any discernible differences between the Black RDX TX flexes and their 6.5 counterparts?

Congrats on winning it.   Really interested to hear how you like it.  I'm going to try a longer shaft in my driver, so one designed for that def has my interest.

A little heavier, stiffer and lower torque.  We find that there is a difference in the need between what an average "X Flex" consumer needs and tour players.

Beauty!

Just got a great deal on the 60 TX, so I went 0.5” initially. Could have gone untipped based on hitting the 6.5 so well, but with the heavier head, it should be good.

Here was my latest numbers with the stock version and the new TSI3 and not swinging in 3 weeks basically.

Anticipate picking up about 5mph more by the time the season rolls around.

Is there any counterbalance built into them to manage swingweight at the longer lengths?

There isn't, what testing we have done as well as testing on tour and by some of our partners is that for those looking to maximize swing/ballspeed is losing the headweight is better than adding additional dead weight to the shaft.

Message BryanGolf on Instagram and see if he knows/is willing to give any specs. I know he was testing it a week or two ago

@osubuckeyes691 he’s the one person I mentioned that I had saw that had the shaft, we had a conversation. My problem is I don’t have any similar shaft to get fit into but I’m looking forward on giving it a try!

@TrueTempercurrently playing RDX Blue 60TX at 46” in G425 LST. What are you seeing at the longer lengths with softer midsection shafts or did you mean LD length?  I see the occasional foul ball but thought it was just a bad swing at longer length.

Tested LDX 60 TX vs Tensei AV Raw Orange 65 TX. LDX around 200 rpm less spin, slightly higher ball speeds and tighter dispersion. Medium launch with flat trajectory. A clear upgrade.

I usually play the normal Smoke Black but just picked up one of these quite cheap from a local retailer.

 

Based on the above, I look forward to trying out when I get it tipped and gripped.

 

I'll by trying it as a standard length shaft.

Just following up my earlier post.

 

I'm curious whether True Temper actually released these.

 

I bought mine from a retailer in Australia. They are selling them for 1/3rd the listed price.

 

But Google searching hasn't revealed any other seller anywhere else in the world.

 

Having hit 60, I'm the opposite of a long driver these days.

 

Hence why I bought the 5.5.

 

But thanks to a strongly positive angle of attack I still have a very efficient driver swing.

 

I'd like to wring every last yard from that swing by using the lightest possible shaft with the lowest possible spin.

 

The description of the LDX by @TrueTemperas a lighter, stiffer, lower spin version of the Smoke Black is exactly what should suit me and, I assume, others who find light shafts too spinny.

 

So what happened to the launch?
