I appreciate these are aimed at the higher handicap market, but I've never understood the golf industry's obsession with making GI irons look like a Transformer's kitchen utensil. 

 

At least Ping seem the be getting away from that with the G425s, which actually look quite nice. These do not.

People would be shocked how many SIM irons we fit and sold last year.  Not at the level of PING, but it was more than I thought.  They didn't look great, but they performed once we got them into the right shaft and spin conditions.  I get what the OEMs are trying to do, but sometimes the spin is just too low and a ball releases more than it should, especially on a mishit.  All that said, these should be no exception.

We're almost at a point (likely there already) where, we'll be buying equipment solely based on looks. Performance has been almost maxed out.

 

In that mindset, these are tough to look at.

Not my cup of tea but looks wise they are an improvement over last gen IMO.
