Vessel 2021 FYI

What's the best option to the Lite Stand?  I had one, loved it... until I put it on my push cart.  For some reason I did not even think they would make the bottom of the bag soft, absolutely would not work on a pushcart.  I have a Jones Utility and a Hoofer, but I think I am about to let the Hoofer go.

Can anyone speak on the Player 3 6-way top and massive club tangle? I have a Jones Trouper 2 and the club tangle is just enough to be annoying. Finally talked myself into a Vessel Player 3 stand in the 6 way and initial impressions are not great. First, the way they layout the 6 way is 3|3 which is weird to me as I feel like my putter takes up it's own spot, then i'm cramming 3 clubs into each of the next 5. Lets just say driver, 3W, 3H in one slot is not what i'm looking for. 

 

Most frustrating thing though is it seems like the club tangle is crazy bad, like I can't even sit the irons in all the way bc there's no space for them. Pull 1 club, pull the whole slot. The internal strand mechanism certainly doesn't help.

 

Anyone have a 6-way Player 3 and can chime in on how they arrange their clubs, or any tips? Would the 14-way be better with this?

 

If I can't figure it out, looking like a return is imminent. Appreciate any insight!

Exact opposite of my experience.  I thought it has the least club tangle of any hinging base bag I’ve ever used.  I put D, 3w in top left, Hybrid, putter in top right.  4,5,6 in middle left, 7,8,9 in middle right.  P, 50 in bottom left. 54, 58 in bottom right.  I love it.

Thanks!! will try laying it out that way and see how it goes. I know I may have shot myself in the foot by giving my putter a whole spot and trying to fit 6 clubs across the two bottom sections. I like the layout you mentioned, makes sense..

I use exact same layout and I’ve never had a club tangle issue.

any ideas what that teaser email was about a few weeks ago, about a new style carry bag? they made it seem like a slightly larger version of the lite stand so it could more easily fit 14 clubs... but I haven't seen anything else about it..

Just bought a blue one. I liked the perforated VLS Lux but almost too flashy for me, couldn't justify the extra $$$

The new VLS look really good, top seems like it might be bigger but would want to confirm. I tried a Lite Stand but returned it because the top opening was so tight. 

I am curious about the VLS DXR, says it is just under 4lbs. Not sure I love the red base but the rest of the bag looks 🔥🔥🔥 (and for $365, it better).

i just ordered the VLS in grey and a grey single strap, i was also interested in the VLS DXR but not fond of the color option. red highlights not doing it for me...

 

the VLS Lux in white caught my attention also but that tour synthetic material is impossible to keep in good shape when you walk 3-4 rounds a week. my white VLX is so beat up now. having the hip pad and the nylon material should hopefully aid in the durability.

 

if they had the VLS DXR in white, in theory that would've been a game changer for me

 

but for those of that walk the majority our rounds, that tour synthetic material isn't very durable in my experience

 

there are some better discount codes though on IG from their IG brand ambassadors.

Also put an order in for navy vls today. The top going from 6.5x8 to 7.5x9 should put it more in line with the SM3.5 which would be awesome. 
 

for prior vessel bag owners, is the cart strap thing a thing to definitely get? And if navy, I assume black/gray strap?

i would say if your bag is the tour synthetic leather, you def need the cart strap sleeve anytime you strap it to a cart. if you want to avoid any ripping or tears

 

not sure about the nylon material though for this VLS but we have a few vessel bags in our household and previously bought multiple cart sleeves. i intend to use it anytime i ride a cart with the VLS bag, you just never know!

 

i would think the nylon material would be more durable but could affect some of the smaller leather touchpoints.

 

i noticed with the construction of my VLX before the synthetic leather had areas on the edges where if there is constant pressure even from walking and brushing on my body or belt caused it to tear. the areas that get a lot of wear are key issues with their synthetic leather construction

Just purchased the Player 3. Mine did not come with the cart strap cover. Did anyone buy a player 3 recently and did yours come with the cart strap cover? Otherwise, really like the bag a lot. Feels and looks very premium.
