NIke RZN Black

Found a couple boxes of golf balls that I had stashed away.  They are the Nike RZN Black boxes that came along with the Rory 006.  I know basically nothing about Nike balls.  Are these something to throw on the shelf to put in play this season?  I assume there's something unique about them as they were in the putter box with a limited Nike putter, but maybe not.  Anyone know anything about these?

This RZN Black is 2014 version. Rory won 2 majors with RZN Black in 2014.

You can hit some absolute missiles with these. Great off the tee. 
horrible chipping and putting though.
They feel heavy/dead and don’t spin loads on chips. 

 

last version of platinum range was a nice ball. Great value

To some degree they followed the tour ball versus tour x ball model. Black being the x.

That's my understanding anyway.

The RZN Platinum was the most spinny short game ball I've ever used. I loved the feel off the putter too. I still have a sleeve that I use to compare other balls that I try to see if come close in feeling. The Platinum have a nice little knock off of my Betti.

I liked the Platinum as well.  When Nike got out of the equipment game and Tiger went to Bridgestone, didn't he or someone with some inside knowledge admit that Bridgestone was making the balls for Nike, or at least their upper echelon balls?

They are/were made by RZN Golf.  Good news, you can still purchase them, just without the Nike branding.  Link

I had a box of these.  Before that the ONE Black which were the predessors.  They are firm and I mean very firm which I prefer.  Paul Casey once said that he loved the ONE Black but found that they worked the best for hard swingers like himself.  Supposedly they didn't go nearly as far if the golfer didn't have the ss for it, whatever that's supposed to mean.  The RZN Black aren't as hard to get going apparently and are low spin from personal experience.
