Finally got the 64° in hand, testing to follow. Who’s gaming this one already?

I have been using this 64* wedge quite frequently.

A few things:

1. It is not as difficult as people say. If you can use a 58 or 60 degree wedge, you will not have any problems with a little practice and getting used to it.

2. Saved me strokes in the following situations - when a bunker (or any obstacle) is infront of you and you have to attack a tight pin, high shots that land and pretty much stop, deep bunkers, over the trees if needed, and general partial swing shots for short distance.

3. It is black and white clear when to use the 64* wedge. When I used to have 50, 54 and 58* setup, it was sometimes difficult to choose between 50 or 54 and 54 or 58. Now that my wedge setup has 6 degrees gap of 52, 58 and 64, it makes it so much easier to make wedge choices on the course.

4. If 64* seems mentally too much  loft for some, 62* will work just fine as well. My friends who tried out my 64* but felt that it was too much loft went with this 62* direction.

So far these are my findings with the full face zipcore. Been using modus wedge 115 but toying with the idea of reshafting with KBS Hi Rev 2.0.

wondering does anyone have trouble hitting low checker with this wedge? for some reason it always slides up the face and launch high for me

wonder if its the head or the shaft thats kinda softer i felt

anyone else felt this?

Sounds like a shaft angle issue

did some experiment with my full face

bought a hand file and grinded the heel off, extended the C grind because i notice the heel had more bounce than the toe section

i can now hit lower and actually got more spin out of the wedge as well

as stock, i found full face have a higher bounce than stated, it resisted digging and tend to fly the ball higher

very good from bunker, and square faced shot, but its very hard to judge wedge as techniques varies and therefore might react different to different people

yeah I did the same on my 60. I used a grinding bit on my dremel tool and essentially made a T grind extending the heel toe and trailing edge relief more and now the leading edge doesn’t point up when I open up the face

Hope you get along well with it. I have a CBX2 64 full face and like it. On a whim I got the Zipcore and am just not feeling it. The ZC plays like it has to much bounce for me even though the cbx has more.

I have found that I stick with what this wedge is good for. One of the things it’s not good for me is a low checking shot. My 54 is great for that. Another is to find  a distance that I can hit consistently with a smooth full swing. Trying to get a little more out of it is never a good idea.

Those CBX2 full face wedges look pretty sharp too, glad it’s working for you. I have to say my 64° hasn’t seen much action lately. Been getting the top of the bag in order.  Also just can’t seem to kick my OG Zipcores out for anything.

thats what im trying to achieve too, but i stayed away from the middle part as i didnt want it to dig too much

currently its good for bunker shot and square full shot

so so on handle low shot, the heel tend to dig quite a bit if i get too steep
