and when a pro at Harmony Preserve was trying to talk me into signing up for a Hooters event after 77 off the tips ... I asked what won last year.  Answer “70-64, by Robert Gamez” ... hard pass

 

I am well aware of my place against pro’s fellas

I know Gamez is a past champ, but you really have to question why a guy that doesn't play would want to put himself through that kind of misery? They must have a killer buffet in the clubhouse.

I regularly post scores 5-10 over my normal range leading up to the API. Not to mention lost balls in the rough where you should be able to find them, but need a gallery and spotters to do so.

 

When the rye grass dies off and the green go back down to the 10-12 range sure.

This ⬆️!!!  It is amazing to me that people fail to realize how good you have to be to even SNIFF a tour card, never mind win a tour event. He had a bad day/event. So what??? He’s in the top 1% of the top 1% of anyone who’s ever teed it up anywhere in the entire world.

Make no mistake, the course was playing extraordinarily tough, even on the first two days. But, yes, that is a legit question. 85, 85 is out there for a low handicapper. But so is 91, 98. 🙂
