What'd You Shoot Today?

This my 1st post in this thread. (why? no idea.)

 

Anyways, Friday, Sat., Sun. 71, 76, 71(7 pars 2 bogeys on front, 3 birdies 1 bogey on the back)

 

These were all at my home course which is about 6500yds. (kinda short) par 71. :)

Shot a horrendous 90 today playing from the black tees (just under 6600 yards, par 71) at Tallgrass, which is out in eastern Long Island. 10ish index but was actually hitting good golf shots just playing terrible golf.

 

Opened with an eagle on the 1st hole- solid 280 yard drive (which is good distance for me) in the fairway, followed by a hybrid to 4 feet, made the putt. At this point, I'm thinking this could be a good day. Hit some good shots but couldn't make any putts on holes 2-8 so I was 1 over through 8 and still thinking it could be decent. Pulled drive on 9 into the tall grass (guess that's why they named the place) and took a bunch of hacks to find my way back to the fairway- ended up making a sweet 9 on the par 5 9th hole to ruin the front 9.

 

Back nine was pretty much more of the same- mostly felt like I hit the ball well but just couldn't get the ball in the hole.

 

What's funny is that I've hit the ball much worse and scored much better- today I felt like I hit it solid but I felt like I had no idea how to play.

Went out today to Clustered Spires in MD and promptly shot 105. Pathetic? More than likely. Real issue for me today was my irons. I was deadly with the wedges and my driving was good. but my fairway woods and irons really crapped out today.

 

Overall, I'm satisfied with how it all went, considering I didn't have a chance to warm up or work on putting. Danged starter tried to rush me and thus I made the fast move out.

I got a new spyder monza putter 25 putts today and a smooth 71 not bragging my ball striking sucked a bit but anytime I have 25 putts (its been years)

25 putts! That's awesome. I had that on the back 9 today. Guess that's why you shot 71 and I suck.

I shot a 79 with a chip-in on 18 on Friday at my home course which plays 6900 from blues.

 

I shot a 40 on the very easy front and a 39 on the 3750 yard back nine. How weird is that!

82 at Eagle Mountain in Scottsdale(par 71 6800) today ok round for me (9.4 index) played the last 2 at 3 over which killed me. was only 3 over for the back before that blow up. Thats the last time I look at a score card and say I can post a 39 for the back.

First real round on a course today since last fall(This spring was hectic with track and the injuries that come with it). On 9 i shot 41, which was 5 over par. I was driving the ball great, hitting 6\7 fairways, and my putting was pretty good with just 13 putts. However, i was NOT getting it done with my irons\approach shots, hitting just 1\9 greens in regulation. :clapping: However, i managed to get up and down on a few, which yielded me 4 pars, and 5 bogeys.

seventy six lol I had a triple on a three par two three putt bogeys a missed green bogey and a hit it in the wa wa going for the par five bogey

 

I missed 6 putts inside 7 feet

 

Its a pathetic score considering I hit 15 greens and 12 fairways but 36 putts is no help

I can not score to save my life. I need a lot of work. 20 putts for 9. 3-putted from 4 feet. 45. ouch. I've been getting 1 birdie per 9 though almost every time and setting myself up for at least a couple other makeable birdie putts.

Back below 80 :russian_roulette: today with a 77. With 2 doubles 3 birdies the rest pars and bogeys shot 40/37 bogeys on 2 of the last 3 which sucked but ill take the 77. Par 71 6500 yrds from the tips desert layout 70.1 rating 126 slope 11/14 fairways 13/18 greens 28 putts. Index 9.2

Walked 18 holes today, off to a very slow start, but got the back in under an hour walking so ended on time still. I shot an 82 on my second real round of this year, which was 10 over par. 41 out and 41 back in, i had a few really solid pars, a few missed birdie attempts, and some very great chips. 8 pars\10 bogeys, but once i find my iron play\approach shots, i think i'll start dropping strokes pretty easily. only hit 6 fairways, and 3 greens in regulation*ouch*, but my short game proved valuable and my putter, very reliable, with only 26 putts, and no 3 jacks.

4 birdies, 2 doubles, 4 bogies and 8 pars...not my most consistant round

 

I messed around with the 9to3 drill for the first time this morning warming up...had my best ball striking day in a loooong time.

 

I also took out my forward press in my putting stroke...made waaay more puts that I usually do.

 

 

...all in all it was a pretty good day.

A 35 on 9 holes. Definitely one of my worse outings this year, but it was one of those "good shots, good feel, good golf, bad outcome" type days.

 

Oh yeah, that was on a par 27 :russian_roulette:

This was actually on friday. +2 38. I had 4 bogies and 2 birdies. I missed at least 3-4 very makeable 6-10 footers and I even missed a 2-3 footer. I think I finished with about 15-16 putts. If only I had made a couple more putts =/

My first outing with my new i10 irons and I shot a gross 72 in the club scratch cup, came 2nd.

 

Pleased with that as I haven't played well lately so I wasn't expecting too much, especially on my first round with my new irons. Didn't start well, double on 1 but got back on track with birdie on 7 followed by eagle on 8 = 34 front 9 (-1). Back 9 went a bit wrong with 4 bogeys and 1 birdie for a 38.

 

Loving the i10's though, very solid irons. A few off centre hits that I got away with too!

 

Handicap may come down a bit too as CSS was +5

76 on my new home course. If today is any indication of how I am going to play at the new course, I will be extremely happy. It's a little over 6300 yards from the blues. The tips play a little over 7K. I average 1 birdie per round and had 3 today, 9 pars.

 

The wind was pretty tough today and against the wind I hit a 200yd drive, two holes later with the wind, 310yds.

Shot a 41 (5 over) on 9, local league.

 

I played Deer Run in Ocean City while on vacation. Gorgeous course, horrible layout! It's one of those courses you could tell they did not have enough room, as every hole was a severe dog leg after about 200 yrds (except the par 3's obviously). I shot a 51 on the front, which was pretty bad, followed by a 44 on the back...which I was happy with considering the course.

Shot an 80 on a par 70 the other day, playing with strangers cost me probably 5 shots that day.

Had my personal best today. A 73! Par was 72. Was 2 under going into 9 and proceeded to 4 putt. Ended up with 5 birdies. 4 total eagle putts, none made, or even close for that matter. Finished with a 4 putt and 2 3 putts. Definately frustrating, but for a low 80s shooter, I'll take it. Putting is my downfall. Course plays 6600 yards.

75 I know I suck three three putts yet overall I had 32 putts

 

one nice birdie putt two kickin three footers a sweet eightiron and a nice five iron

 

I did toe hook a hybrid in the water on a short par 4 and made a double bogey on a par five (tree hangs right over and just in front of the tee you have to go under or around ) my ball was six inches too high Finished the hole with a 3 putt from about 20 ft but on the fringe so I only counted it as a two putt

 

I hit the pin with a seven iron on seventeen but I think the ball would have been over the green it jumped a tad on me.

 

Well at least I putted slightly better the last two rounds without the Spyder

A weak 83 for me today par 72 6900yrds 72.6 131 slope. started off double double finished 43/40 32 putts no birdies only 9 gir not a good putting/driving/shortgame day. :clapping: ballstriking was ok the greens I missed I didnt miss by much I just couldnt get up and down from a one step ladder today. I think my psyce is telling me to go buy the Scotty Cameron already. Playing again sunday so hopefully back in the 70's

A very pedestrian 88. Two three putts, both when I was 15 ft away putting for Birdie!! Ugh!!! Arrrrghhh.... I did have one nice 23 footer uphill for birdie that was in from the very start. Not three feet off the putter I was holding up my putter calling: "Birdie!!!" it was nice. 10/14 fairways, but only 5 greens. My irons just stink. 34 putts - not good.
