PRGR - cool website, underrated sticks.

PRGR highly underrated.  I shot my best round ever of 71 with the ID BL irons and modus shafts.  That set and my Vegas are my most regretted sets I sold.  I have forgot about most sets I have had and remember when I see a photo that I had that once, but I still think about those 2 sets….

I live in Japan and still get looks for using a PRGR O2 Tune driver. When I get home from work, I'll post a pic or two.

Looks like it’s a bad thing? Or people are in awe from it?

In my adventures of building cheap forged iron sets, I came across this set of PRGR Data 801 heads.  3-PW, $92 shipped from Japan.  They aren't the softest feeling heads I've built up, but have a nice cavity shape and I like the slightly beveled leading edge relief on the sole.  I'm a bit of a sweeper, so they feel great thru the turf.

Gotcha. That looks very slick. I’m glad to see more manufacturers going with the super sleek look. Has this already dropped? Or is it coming soon?

I am looking for a new driver JDM brand please. And shaft choice that I should match with.

I am looking for distance off tee, more of a slicer and slower swing speed at around 90s mph.

been looking at brands like Emilid Bahamas, Baldo, Jbeam and also Progress beside PRGR.

any inout would be much appreciated.

Docus design makes the reloaded+ and revolution drivers/woods/ hybrids. All excellent. I enjoy the Proto concept C01D driver head as well

but outside of the two, progress looks excellent and PRGR is so classic, excellent feel and stability (they’ve been doing it well long enough!)

I had a set of 2-PW PRGR Data 611 irons back in 1999, with tour composite shafts...really nice clubs, but didn't last long.  I wasn't ready for composite and cavities were pronounced....

Hey @Soloman1, I'm looking at that exact driver head. I very much like the looks of it but I'm having a hard time finding any reviews. Can you elaborate on your experience with it. I'm replacing a 2018 Rogue Sub Zero that performed well but I just got bored with. Can the PRGR keep up with the ball speeds of the newer drivers?

Absolutely. Titanium face and rock solid in shape, sound and distance. I’ve tried almost everything over the years, but it’s still in my bag.

Remember, the shaft is as important as the head. I have the original Mitsubishi shaft for it. M-43

M is Mid flex, 43 is meters per second (how they measure swing speed in Japan), which converts to 96 MPH. That’s a stiff shaft and  ideally suited to that swing speed as a minimum.

PXG used the balance, weight and feel of PRGR iron and wood heads as the benchmark for their clubs., according to a knowledgeable source.

Buy it! 🙂

Thanks for the quick response and info. It's a head only sale so I'll be able to experiment a bit and see which shafts I have lying around compliment the head best. Assuming I can source some adapters. It's between the PRGR and a TEE EXS 220. In all honesty I could probably by both for the price I sold my rogue. I'm just trying not to have 6 drivers lying around the house. I'm slow at selling clubs. I can get away with it as a single man haha.
