Side note, delays are hitting every industry. For example, I need to replace a garage door and was quoted 4 months, my wife tried to buy patio furniture as was flat out told not to place an order, my mom needs an oven but can't get one for 3 months. I think we all need to adjust our expectations as it seems like we'll be in this new environment for the foreseeable future. 

 

When I ordered my Ping G410 irons last yr. they took 11 weeks to get. 

 

If you like what you got fitted for all you can do is wait. You could get fitted for another brand but you might have to wait just as long.

 

Side note: My refrigerator broke last April. It wasn't able to get a new one until the middle of October. Every market is still being affected by Covid.

He didn't but implied he would do what he needed to satisfy me.  I suspect they will be fine.

Whelp...I asked my local shop about Taylormade wood lead times and they confirmed...AUGUST. Two weeks ago the wait time was 3-4 weeks, and just yesterday TM told them custom orders will take 4 months.

It really depends which head and at which loft you want. Some are good(in stock) and others are not ( back order ).

The dates the stores, fitters, pro shops are quoting is based on a worst case scenario FYI.

Quick question

 

i ordered my set feb 6th p770 

Updated today from my golf fitter they are saying mid June originally March 30th

 

now if I go on taylormade website and put in my order today . It also says mid June ..

 

so me waiting these past few months and order today mean the same thing that seems messed up

At the time you ordered 2/6, certain components were available ( I.e heads in stock ) but they were expecting shafts at a later date. Now those shafts are in but the heads are out of stock. I know it’s crazy because I ordered mine on 1/8 and was told mid April, but I think it will be late May.

EVERY vendor is having huge issues with the 2 most popular shafts right now- Dynamic gold and Project X.

Seems Wierd .. how can the heads be gone if they didn’t have the shafts .. tried ordered into heads only but wouldn’t let me back then .. 

 

Thinking about switching to a different iron now or going to eBay to find a set

The heads went to other orders that had in-stock shafts. Once you order parts aren't allocated to you and just sit around - they have to all be in stock at the same time when your # comes up.

there are ways a fitter can check availability on stock before he places an order.

building a mock up on the TM custom site is one option and use to show you expected dates for back ordered items ( heads, shafts, grips) but not just gives you a generic number of days with no explanation. Another way to find out more detail is to work with one of the actual demo techs who have a daily update on product status

So you’re going to be the first in line when the shafts come in, so if they only get say 50 of your shafts but have 100 customers who want the shaft, those who ordered earlier will get their and the others have to wait.  Hopefully that helps.

ps: I’m on the struggle bus, I just returned a set because I wasn’t sure happy with them and was told 4 weeks, 4 weeks ago and now it’s not till middle August

I canceled my order and just went to the store and bought them.. ordered shafts were here in 1 week and just changed out the shafts .. boom.. 

 

no waiitng till June July ..

As others have mentioned, order times are all over the place depending on your specific specs. Pro shop placed my order on 5/27 and the driver is already expected to arrive tomorrow (SIM2 w/ Ventus Black 6x). Surprising given I'm sure this combo is in high demand.

 

Unfortunately, my P7MC irons aren't expected to ship until mid-August. 1 for 2 not bad, I'll take it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
