I picked up an 11.5 this week and it’s an awesome club. I would prefer to get the ball flight down and bit though and be more penetrating. I’ve tried it with a Hzrdus Black and Ventus Blue so far. Anyone have a preferred shaft combo?

An old Matrix Ozik Ruel 80S to 3 wood tipping. Real deal from an old RBZ 13”5 stage 2. Brilliant.

Lofting it down is going to have way more of an effect than any shaft will. But beyond that going heavier and any low/low shaft should do the trick.

I lowered the loft to the lowest setting today and that brought the ball flight down to a reasonable height. Tried Kuro Kage XT, Hzrdus Black, and Ventus Blue today. Hzrdus Black had the best dispersion but only 230 carry. Ventus Blue had 245 carry but dispersion was much wider. I’m going to continue to play around with it some more.

On a good day, I hit it 260.  Lowered 11.5 down as far as it would go.  Dispersion was great.  I sold the club though and went for a bigger length driver and head.  Though there are days I miss this club.  Couldn’t hit it straight off the deck though (then again how many of us can hit a 9* driver off the deck).

Anyone tested the mini driver vs TSR2+ which is more fairway wood?

I have used them both. I played the Taylormade 300 mini driver in 13.5 for a bit and now currently game the TSR2+.

Basically this slot in my bag I am looking for something that I can play mainly off the tee but occasionally off the ground. the 300 mini driver was good. It excellent off the tee but I was only able to use it confidently off the ground in the most ideal situations. For me it was also pretty low spin. Distance wise at times it ran right into my driver. For me this was not ideal because I hit driver well and was looking for something that was definitely shorter to use as a compliment to me driver.

The TSR2+ (which i play in the flat setting at 14.5*) does exactly what I want it to do. It is shorter than my driver. It is easier to hit off the ground and just fits in my bag better for what I need this slot to do. The TSR2+ is forgiving enough but It is significantly smaller than the 300 mini driver. It is fairway wood sized while the 300 is a small driver with a big face.

Thanks and hope this isn’t too off topic but how does tsr2+ compare to a normal 13.5 3 wood for you?

With the club face being little deeper and the CG is pushed farther back, I definitely get better height with the TSR2+ than normal 13.5 heads, especially off the tee.

no clue. I haven’t put a 13.5 normal fairway wood in play for a long time because the normal one fly too low for me.

ok definitely looking for an increase carry number so hopefully won't be too skinny.

but back to mini driver, not a off the turf club... more of a tee club only?

Took the mini out on the course for the first time today. Straight down the middle every time. Plenty of distance. On average longer than hitting driver for me when you factor in driver mishits that have too much spin.

I still feel like I can get more distance out of it though if I can find the optimal shaft for my swing.

What's the stock weight of the weight screw? And what size would I need to replace it?
