MMT vs Steelfibers

I have been looking at the news apex pros and saw that the mmt is only offered up to 105 but if you get the tx they are around 113 g. So weight wise I would be close to what I play in my apex pro 19s. I currently play the Steelfiber i110 stiffs and noticed that they are similar except the steelfibers torque is 2.1 and the mmt is around 2.9. Has anyone compared them? Would the tx be comparable to the sf stiff? Thanks for any help.

It is hard to compare, the mmt have a really soft feel whilst steel fiber have more of a steel feel. Mmt are stiff and the 105tx that I owned felt stiff and stable but soft in feel.

Looking at the pxg clubs with graphite shaft options of accra , steel fiber, or mmt. Do you like the feel of the steel fiber?

I think I read that they have different EI profiles.  I think the SF is Soft-Firm-Firm from butt to heel and the MMT is Firm-Soft-Firm.  I might be misremembering, though.

I have Apex Pro with MMT 105 TX and they feel like X100 steel, just launch higher.

I think you have that backwards. Steelfiber has a softer mid in every weight class except for the 125. MMT is based off of the dynamic gold x100.

Steelfiber is also based on DG.

Maybe in the 125, but it is mid soft in every other weight designation.

Not sure I agree based on the profile data, as compared to DG.  Unfortunately only have i110 in X to compare to DGX

Interesting. The EI graphs Russ Ryden produces show a completely different profile than the wishon frequency charts. Never bothered to check those.

Amusingly, I'd never compared Russ's EI profiles, and now I see where you're coming from.

Is launch significantly higher? Seriously considering the Apex Pro 21s with a MMTTX shaft

Freq and EI charts will look different.   It's not inherently easy to translate one to the other. 

 

From what I've seen (no interest in subscribing myself) unless (maybe?) you have the high priced subscriptions to Russ' data, they really only show profile shapes and can be misleading when comparing shafts on different charts since the auto-scaling can distort one profile relative to others on different plots.

 

Now maybe things have changed.  if Russ allows you to plot different shafts together on the same chart, the comparison might be more useful.  But I've never seen that capability before so didn't think it was possible.

Disagree.  Too much trust in wrong data.  I played Aerotech TT i110cw "S" in 2-9i and i125cw "S" in PW to LW for almost 2yrs.  Now, play TT Tensei AV White AM2 S in 2i-4i, and TT MMT 125s in 5-LW.  Actually i110cw have a slightly softer frequency in the tip compared to i95cw, I have all three weight sets.  Titleist provided a frequency measure of i95 vs. i110, and it confirms the tip of i110 is fractionally softer than i95, but i110 handle is fractionally stiffer than i95 and both are stock.

latest spec sheet for i95, i110 and i125 is on the right.  There's a slight difference between Taper Tip and Parallel Tip specs.

I have no access to any data. However, when I tried 95s steelfiber and 95s mmt, steelfiber felt more similar to px and mmt felt more similar to dg. This is completely subjective but that's how I felt. If i order them in relation to how difficult i was able to load, px 5.5 (6.0 too of course) - steelfiber 95s- dg s200 - mmt95s.
