Vessel Players 3.0 DXR

Vessel recently came out with a different version of their Player 3.0 bag that uses some mysterious DXR material. Does anyone have this bag? How do you like it? I’ve had (and sold) the regular Player 3.0. Just want to make sure this DXR material is as nice and durable as the regular 3.0. Thanks!

See my post in other thread, but yes.  I just got it and I love it.  IMO it’s noticeably better than the OG.

Have they made any improvements to the legs? They drooped a bit when carrying the bag in my other 3.0. The leg tether they provide solves the issue but was wondering if they might have resolved in this new version. Would prefer not using the tether!

No, they included a tether again.  I got used to it on my previous Player 3.  Admittedly I was skeptical at first, but now I very much like the instant "thunk" sound of the legs fully retracting.  There is zero chance the legs would droop with the tether set up.  I have mine attached at the "strap-side" of the strap attachment, so the motion caused by lifting the strap very quickly and efficiently retracts the legs.

Yeah, it’s a minor inconvenience for sure. I’ve noticed lots of other bags have the same problem. I think it’s just nature of the beast with stand bags. Only Vessel has come up with a solution. Another reason to love their bags!
 

I ordered mine Saturday. Fingers crossed it gets here before this weekend! 
 

I really appreciate your review of the bag. It was just what I needed to throw me over the edge.

I received my DXR in the mail today and have to agree with everything you said - the bag is perfect! Even the legs snapped right up after I loaded it up and picked it up. Don’t think I’ll need the tether. Only negative is the cart strap sleeve was not included like it said it would be in the product description on the website. Minor inconvenience, I’ll contact Vessel tomorrow. Everything else is perfect!

could you please post some pics of the new material, i haven't been able to see any that showed it in detail..

Please see from other thread.  The side pockets of each flank of the bag are the DXR diamond ripstop material.  It is noticeably thicker than the nylon in my previous 2020 SM 4.5.  I'd say at least 2x thicker feeling (and that's conservative).  It's beefy.  The nylon feels slightly thicker than Ping Hoofer material, but smoother....if that makes sense.  The "spine" of the bag is the same material as a regular Player 3.  This includes the magnetic rangefinder pocket and the removable panel ball pocket below as well as the water bottle holders.

 

The lining of the straps and the padding of the interior cuff are also a thick nylon woven mesh material, as opposed to the velour like lining.  

 

Otherwise it's the same bag, just some updated fabrics.

I'd be very intersted to hear if Vessel bags still have the spine down the back that gets into the ball and tee pockets?  I had the Players 2 and just hated how much room it seemed to take up in the pockets.  But I love the black and red combo of the DXR, I'm just not sure if my wife would leave me if i bought a $400 golf bag...

This bag came back in stock briefly two weeks ago and I ordered one from Vessel. I got it a couple of days ago and it is the nicest bag I have ever owned. It may sound strange but it's almost too nice and I am going to send it back as I don't feel like I need a bag this nice. It is an amazing bag but overkill for me.

I used a Player's 2 on a Clic Gear cart last year when COVID started and I had zero issues.

Zero issues with my DXR on my Bag Boy Nitro

I've used this same bag on Rovic RV1S.   The leg attachments fit nice and snug into the upper bag holder legs and keep the bag from moving around/twisting very nicely.  I've had zero issues/complaints about it.
