History: This is the 5th year for the event. In 2020, Stacy Lewis sank a 23 foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Emily K. Pedersen, Cheyenne Knight, and Azahara Munoz.

Not an overly strong field, but a few top players are teeing it up, including Patty, Lydia, Ariya, Moriya, Leona, All, Hannah, Austin, and Yuka.

 

TV coverage is lacking for the first two rounds, but there's four hours each day on the weekend.

 

Weather looks like typical Scottish weather with breezy conditions and showers each day.

Can’t wait to see Dumbarnie on tv and how it plays.  Hearing a lot of good things about it.   It opened at the worst possible time.   Glad to see the women playing some great courses for the next couple weeks.

Lydia, Minjee and Lee6 have it easy on Thursday, they're out in the morning when winds are calm.  Hannah, Ariya and Patty need to tough it out in the afternoon, with winds reaching 19 mph.

Lydia has a good season, but it could've been much better!  Her last six LPGA finishes are T6, T22, T52, T61, T9, T35.

After putting up a good fight in Tokyo, I like Hannah Green this week. I think it's fair to consider Bronte a dark horse these days, she's been a bit off for awhile now. Her gal pal Alison's win last week could have sparked the flame and with Solheim around the corner I hope she shows up soon.

Ariya's trusty stinger off the tee may play a role this week.

A lot depends on the condition of Ariya's wrist. It seems to be troubling her lately.

Scores are good in the morning; forty-four are under par and only seventeen are over par.

 

It might get more challenging later as winds gust up to 28 mph in the afternoon.

The LPGA or Golf Channel or both, don't seem to like Canada and after a couple years of dealing with Covid can't say I'm a fan of Canada right now either lol  So the last 2 hours are on a stream that we can't get in Canada and the Golf Channel is playing reruns of Feherty until 2 PM, when golf central comes back on lol.  Now not only am I done with this Mickey Mouse tour but I will also be keeping my 5.99 that went golf channel, it's honestly quite easy to pirate PGA coverage.  I now say cancel the CP and spend the purse on junior girl's across the country or Join the JLPGA lol.

Well, a lot of folks here talked about her lack of length, so i guess this gets amplified the other way - lack of length pressuring both iron and putting... got away with it in japan with more benign conditions.  

 

still, the courses for horses analogy is correct -- hence why the PGA Championships historically "favored long hitters" whereas it doesn't hold true in Augusta.

I'd say Masters champs...Dustin, Tiger, Bubba, Phil, Jack, Arnie, etc were/are pretty long hitters.

I'd say in all tournaments and courses you'll have short, mid and long hitters win.

Lowest score is all that matters.
