Nelly Korda's Wedges on eBay

Pretty surprising to find these today. Looks to be a lot of pre-Titleist-Vokey-deal wedges she had. No idea how a large batch of a dozen or so of her wedges hit a trade-in account but they are there.

 

MD3 auction ended from same seller stamped 'Nelly K'.

Theyre all TA-serial tour issue

She uses 54/58 with steelfibers

These wedges are hand ground and hand stamped by Anthony Taranto @ Callaway Tour Dept

The American flag lasered one showed up on his past IG posts saying they're for an LPGA player:

I guess she doesn't want to have a garage/basement full of old clubs when she retires. Can't imagine she needs the money.

How many times do you really see verifiable clubs a pro had in their hand on ebay for cheap? Not often.

 

Wouldnt doubt that she has tons of clubs that were given to her to test over the years and etc. I can only assume she gave these away to someone else that traded them in to this ebay seller. 

 

I ended up buying a few of them. My wife is a big fan of hers and actually uses the same exact wedge so I'm gonna build her up a lob wedge with the 58 and then try to have Nelly sign the other two 'USA' wedges when we see her at the next Diamond Resorts here in Orlando (hopefully they allow fans in 2022) to make some really cool memorabilia for display.

 

Not to mention, anything stamped by Anthony Taranto goes for big $$ on ebay and he doesnt do work for the public so it's cool to have some of his wedge work for the price!

Did the seller actually say these were Nelly’s wedges. I peaked at a couple listing real quick and didn’t see a mention. Just curious.

No, the seller didnt know. The MD3 listing was stamped NELLY K so it was hers and the guy who made them at Calalway verified they were for her, not to mention the specs and etc all point to them being hers.

 

If the seller knew they were hers and had sold them as memorabilia im sure the price would be higher.

$108 🤯 Can you imagine what one of her Vokey wedges would go for? Especially if you had verification Bob himself stamped or ground it! (Does he actually still do any of his own work)  🤯🤯 Whoa

@TiScape just pointing out the exact opposite of what @third-times-a-charmsaid in their above quote. Just because it's stamped Nelly K, does not mean it was hers. I could easily stamp her name in a wedge also. Lucky to have the MD3 verified though.

 

Personal objects can be faked, just like autographs. Always get that verification or guarantee from a trusted source.

Yeah but if you read the entire thread you’d know he verified w/Callaway it was made for her. 

*Also. Using common sense, I’d think the seller would have promoted these as her wedges if they were trying to pull some BS. But who knows. If third times a charm says he verified thru Callaway they were made for her, I have no reason to say he didn’t.

Yeah, I did read it and I did also mention that as well if you read my entire post. All I was trying to say was just be careful with stuff like this unless it can be verified. Anybody can stamp a wedge and try to sell it as a real deal

Well uh yeah that’s why I went through the trouble of getting the guy who made them to tell me they were made for her before her Vokey deal.

 

The MD3 stamped “NELLY K” is actually the LEAST of the evidence pointing to them being hers. Not to mention the fact that these are being sold at used wedge prices - not marked up as “the Olympic winners wedges” in order to make hundreds more.

 

So yeah anyone can stamp and fake anything, but that’s not what’s going on here.

 

Besides whoever could have “faked” the MD3 must have been a plus handicap because the wear mark was the hardest thing to fake on the entire wedge 😂

Seller proclubs  on eBay is an account to watch. They are a spot where many many caddies or other “ fences” clear tour clubs from pros to the public.    I bought a prototype i500 3 iron form them a couple years ago that was Tony finaus.  It had the i500 logo stamping on the back milled off in a perfect oval.  I’m guessing so the name wouldn’t be shown to the public before release ?  And a hand scribed serial.  I called ping and asked and they said “ how’d you get that “. I declined to say at the time and the lady finally said “ it’s a tour item that isn’t supposed to be out in the public …”.   I later matched it to Tony with pictures.

The wedges arrived. Real deal.

 

Her specs are 36” D4 with logos down on the grip. They’re tour issue “L” heads with an additional ~4g ground off the sole and drilled out of the hosel bottom to get her SW. 

 

I pulled two of the heads for the memorabilia cabinet and the third one I disassembled and rebuilt to my wife’s specs of stock length and SW for her lob. Pretty cool that she’ll get to use such a great players wedge and shafts! Conversation piece for sure.
