Curious what the best course is there after 2 4 8 + the cradle? Need one more round for booking. Sounds like #7 or #9 are the next best 2? Looking for a fun pretty open course for some vacation golf

Of the resort courses, 7 and 9 are definitely the next ones.  To me, 7 plays tighter and tougher, 9 has a bit more room.  If you prefer to add another Donald Ross course, do as @JLaws_2929 suggests and play at Pine Needles or Mid Pines.  I prefer Mid Pines, but both are great.

I thought #9 was more fun than #8. I honestly felt like #8 was quite overrated.

if you had to choose between #1 or #3 which would you all choose? I'm not too keen on play #8 again

Have played 1, it's good. My preference is 5 for the lower end courses. They use to have half priced green fees late afternoon.

Prefer #1 over #3 - #5 has too many houses/condos on course - eyesores....but a decent course...

 

Mid Pines/Pine Needles/ Southern Pines GC -- all in the 2/4/8 league at 1/2 the price....

 

And none of those are easy, or wide open, resort golf -- all are pretty demanding - there are no big wide open courses in Pinehurst area I can think of, maybe Hyland...
