Cheapest MON before fees is a group of 12 at $1,480; you wouldn't think a speculator would set the low price, so maybe some of the 10+ listings are really tickets in hand?

I had success last year getting partial day badges free of charge for all 3 practice rounds, but not from a scalper. First 2 days were from people in the parking lot, the Wednesday was a couple waiting to get in Hooters. All of them were between 2-3pm. Enough time to get in and see the course for a few hours, and make a run at the merchandise shop. One day (I think Tuesday) it was raining as they were clearing the course, so the shop was closed. Most days the shop closed about 6pm. 

 

I was careful to not make a scene about trying to “buy” the badges as people were leaving, so as to draw the attention of ANGC security and get dissapeared. (Buying/selling on ANGC grounds is strictly forbidden, so be careful there) it took a lot of attempts a few days, but I kept trying. Most people were very nice, and most that turned me down either wanted to keep the souvenir, or had gotten them from someone else, so they couldn’t risk something happening. (I began carrying a USPS envelope and pen to offer to send the badge back to people; 1 gentleman took me up on that). 

 

I was able to buy a badge (single day ticket) from a patron that was done for the day on Friday after the first rain delay outside the Walgreens on Washington road. I was able to get in for about the last hour of play before the tree fell on 17. I made sure to linger around just in case play restarted, but when we realized what had actually happened, it was apparent play would not restart. Security is very nice, and understands people generally want to just be on the grounds as long as possible. 

 

Saturday about 1pm I was able to buy a ticket from a cold and wet patron that had had enough of the raw conditions. Was able to see a couple hours of play before it was called for the day. 

 

I would guess in general, I was more successful than I normally would have been during the tournament rounds due to the weather. Tournament days will be much more difficult to convince someone to part with a ticket, simply due to most of the tickets being the 4 day badges. It was a lot of walking around the parking lots looking for people that were leaving for the day, but it was absolutely worth it. Best of luck to all that try this route this year, and hopefully we get better this year!

Screw it, back to including Speculators (other than the 80 for MON 🙂), as 6+ listings are the cheapest for several days now.  And speculators will eventually run out of time anyway. 

So 2023 & 2024 #s include speculators, going forward

Now that shipments are confirmed,  do you think we see prices drop next week? Cannot believe we don’t have a Monday under $1k all in yet. My guess is they’ll all be LMS @ Wicklow at this point

When are patrons expected to leave the course? I see 30 minutes after play has ended.. is this true even for Wednesday?
 

I’m considering scalping tickets at like 3-4pm on Wednesday to buy merch snd see the course with no one on it. That way I can focus on watching golf when I go Thursday.

Scruffy is hoping to do the same.  Flight lands with plenty of time to get near the grounds and look for a ticket.

When I retire (or maybe when the kids are out of the house) I want to take Masters week off every year and head down to attend ANWA-Wed. every year then head back and catch the toonament on TV.  I think it would be fun just to see how cheaply I can get in each day that I don’t hit the lottery. This thread has given me hope 😂 .

I did that last year, SUN-WED, picked up a $100 MON just as I got to Augusta on Sunday, got free TUE at about 3pm, and had already secured a $100 WED from someone I had just recently met on a message board.  Stayed SUN-WED at the $70/night Knights Inn.  So all in I spent under $500 for 3 nights within walking distance and 2.3 days on the course 🙂
