I just took the Masters plunge and bought a 2-day ticket (Thur-Friday from SH) for bottom line $4600. Last year I waited and waited for prices to drop and they never did, so was shut out on Thursday and Friday paid over 3k. Didn't want repeat of that this year and decided to take the drama out of the equation.  Time will tell if this was a good play.

Creating dummy listings on Stuhub, you now have to select "Ready to Ship" for ANWA and MON; after that you can still select a future shipping date, but it's limited to 1 week out (sell for TUE requires you to select a shipping date of tomorrow TUE 4/2).  I think last year they allowed new shipping listings up to 2 days prior to the event; maybe a new safety measure, or maybe you'll still be able to create a new listing within a week, with "Ready to Ship" still an option.

Does Stubhub transact at their on-site tent during Masters week?  Meaning, can I go up to the Stubhub tent and actually purchase tickets for the same day?

Just thinking of trying to walk up mid-day and purchase tickets that someone may have sold leaving the event earlier in the day.  Is that sort of transaction a thing with SH?

I realize that's a thing with random sellers, but like the idea of the purchasing through Stubhub with some protection there.

Monday was the day that had the most tickets listed on Stub Hub at a little over 300 tickets from what I've seen. Tuesday and Wednesday seem like they had maybe around 200 or less for a high. Doesnt make sense why there seems to be a shortage of Tuesday and Wednesday tickets this year. Maybe Augusta gave out less this year on those days. These prices are way out of my league this year. I would be curious if anyone thinks or hears if there are less people let in this year.

I dont think its that unusual, last week people probably started looking at the ten day forecasts and thinking OK, sunny weather, 75*, we'll take a chance on Monday or Tuesday.

FWIW having spent Tuesday morning with a member last year, I'd be absolutely stunned if they let in fewer people this year. They dont do all these updates and make all these improvements for fewer people to see them.

I think it’s possible they distributed fewer this year. This is the first year Augusta National got into the hospitality business. They very well might have kept more Practice Rounds to complete their 7/day offering at the new hospitality venue.

I didnt really think about that, but it would make sense as a reason for less tickets and the crowds still being the same. I guess Augusta seen other places running  sucessful hospitality packages and wanted some of the action!

The practice day volumes are similar; 80 of the Mondays are a single speculator

Took the plunge and bought a Saturday ticket on SH. Couldn't hang on and hope they dropped even lower.

Will try and get a Friday one closer to the day if I get lucky, but at least I have Saturday now.

Absolute first-timer to Augusta, so shout out to anyone for a suggested itinerary for the day? Seen a few folks saying get to the Merch tent first up? Were would you recommend setting up a chair to go back to? Should I walk the entire thing? If you had only one day to attend what would be the best suggestion? Thanks all!

Since it's your first time, I would recommend leaving your chair in the car and walking the course. There are plenty of good spots in the grandstands to take a load off so you're not on your feet the whole day, as it is challenging walk. For example, some of my favorite spots are the grandstands next to #5 green, the seats behind #8 green, especially if it's a back hole location as you'll be practically sitting right on top of them when they are putting. The grandstands at #15 is also a good spot, especially if you enjoy seeing the occasional train wreck, as well as the hill on #16. Personally, I think Amen corner is overrated and that's where many set up their chairs. Too far from the action IMHO. So I would walk Day #1 and then you can figure out after seeing the course where to set up your chair for Day #2 if you get a ticket.

My experience would be to go to the merch tent on your way out. Unless you want a gnome - everything will be in stock. For me once you finally get through the gates, you are so excited - the last thing you want to do is wait in a huge merch line. Go on your way out and you will have a shorter line at UPS as well.

Weather forecast for the practice rounds turned overnight.  As a reminder, here's what has happened in recent history when the course closes due to weather:

MON 2014 - Rained - Course closed at 10am, original purchasers got their money back, and had right to purchase for 2015

TUE 2022 - Rained - Course closed at 11am, no one got their money back, original purchaser had right to purchase for 2023

WED 2022 - Rained - Course closed at Noon, no one go their money back, no right to purchase for 2023  EDIT: Just had to take cover for a period of time, Par 3 took place

MON 2019 - Lightning - Course closed at 2pm, no one go their money back, no right to purchase for 2020

WED 2017 - Storms - Course opening delayed, then opened for a few hours, Par 3 started at 12:30p but eventually stopped, no refunds, no right to purchase 2018

So if history serves, ANGC provides refunds if the course is opened for less than 2 hours.  After than, NO REFUNDS!! 🙂

This is a big reason why I don't buy from the secondary market in advance; you could be paying thousands of dollars for a ticket that only gets you a couple hours on the course.  I wait until the day before/of and see what the weather does.
