Just two points for me. Anser and Lowry both had terrible last rounds after making the cut (+1 each). Hideki's DSQ is a wash.

Jack's tournament has aways been rather special. It's pretty cool to think that I started being a fan of the Golden Bear so many many years ago. It all began when I was just sophomore brat in high school entering into the game of golf in the mid 1970's.    ⚡

The 3 easiest courses in my rotation are Links O' T, Broadmoor, and Crooked Creek. 

 

I had not played golf since my two enjoyable rounds with Mr. and Mrs. NCLancer back in the second week of May. My groin pull had me sidelined from golf for weeks. I did get in one light practice session the day before this round to see if I was good to go for 18 holes the next day. At the range it wasn't pretty but there was no pain.  Last Wed. on the 1st of June I played Crooked Creek with Kirk and Matt (Buddy Hacket). We had a 12:20 tee time and it was kind of cooking that afternoon. Partly Cloudy and 87*. It was a 3 glove round. I started out bogey, par, par. But I only hit one fairway and zero greens. I missed a 4 foot curler for par on the par 3 fourth. Then the wheels came off.   #5 is the number two handicap. I pulled my 3rd drive of the day and this one sailed into a very large pine tree. We looked all over but no TP5 was found. I took the drive of shame back to the tee box to hit my third shot. I ended up making a snowman quad. Six over after five. The carnage continued all afternoon. I could not find a swing. I could not find a fairway or green. I chipped ok and I putted well but too many came up an inch or two short. The greens were slower than most others I play. I had 3 penalty strokes added to my score for the round. I lost badly to Matt and Kirk. 

 

My sour numbers from the round.

 

4 GIR's

4 fairways hit

36 putts with 2 three jacks

3 oB's 

 

I shot an 88.      Yup me and the desert rehabbing guy had the same score last week. 😀

 

It was a frustrating round. I know I had been away from the game for weeks, but consistently not driving the ball well all round long is something I rarely experience. If I don't find fairways I don't score. I could not find any timing or a rhythmic tempo all afternoon. I pulled a ton of shots.

 

Though I played a really poor round of golf by my standards I was not letting that for one minute take away from the joy that I was experiencing retuning to game and battling the fellas.   ⚡

When are our LIV picks due in….

As I relax with a few glasses of wine this evening I find myself wearing a mighty large grin. I am just ecstatic. I played yesterday at Cleghorn and today at CCA. Both of my rounds were filled with tense competition that took place on two extremely beautiful golf courses. I will tell you more about both rounds and share some photos in the coming days. I was grateful that my body got along rather well this week. I had no leg pain issues. This 60 year old man played fairly well and I was able to score a few digits less both days compared to last weeks 88. 😃
