I just have to lend my support. 

The manner in which Rory has conducted himself over the last two weeks has caused me to change one of my picks. Win, make the cut, or miss it by a mile I don't care because I feel moved to back Rory this week. 

Rors delivered brilliantly during the finishing holes at the Canadian Open and in doing so he snagged a huge win. I will never forget watching the conclusion of that tournament, it was special. He also has been the lead voice of the committed to stay PGA Tour stars that are ready to battle with the oncoming attack of LIV Golf's Saudi money grab.  UGH to the new golf league. 

 Rory you have made this 5 decades long fan of the PGA Tour very proud of late.

Mrs. NCL and I returned to The Old North State Tuesday after a week + in the North Country of New York State.  The temps never got above 77, the humidity was low and it only rained in the evening.  We visited with family and friends and attended a family wedding down in the Finger Lakes area.  

Our first round on vacation we played with a lifelong buddy at The Barracks in Plattsburgh, which was the former 9 hole Plattsburgh Air Force Base course.  As one of my friends was a base kid we were able to play the course in high school, often playing all day for $3.50!  After the base closing in 1995 a local couple bought the facility and expanded the course to 18 holes and now that it has all grown in the new 9  blends well with the older holes.  36 putts, 9-14 fairways and a 54-50=104 but we had a great time.   

A few days later we played with an older cousin and my uncle (approx 86 years young).  Located on the shore of Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh Bluff Point Golf Resort was opened in 1890 and designed by A.W. Tillinghast.  It has had a few different owners over the years but the course itself hasn't changed in my 45 years of golfing.  My uncle was a long-time member and knows every inch of the course and he regaled us with some of his memories/stories.  He still has game and it was a pleasure watching him work with the skills he has.  My 51-50=101 was somewhat less inspiring with 34 putts and 8-14 fairways hit.   

Monday of this week we added a new state to our "states played" list  (I'm at 14).  Maryland National outside of Frederick, MD is a expansive, beautiful bear of a course.  Conditions were fantastic, with wide open inviting fairways however a flat lie was rarely found.  85 with humidity but a breeze blew through the hills and it was very welcomed.  Playing the course again would be easier because as they say it's only a blind shot once!  35 putts, 9-13 fairways, 46-54=100 as I ran out of gas (and patience with myself)!

This is so spot-on!  54 holes, shotgun start, guaranteed money...they are playing exhibitions not true tournaments!  Absolutely no way global points should be awarded for LIV participants...Thanks for sharing LP.

Tough course set-up: not real "exciting" golf but more like "surviving" golf.
