Office Chair - work at home

Any suggestions for a good ergo office chair for home office, trying to stay under $500.

 

The Branch ergo chair seems like a great value, but can also get 20% off at steelcase through work, was looking at the Amia Air.

I read a bunch of nightmare reviews on the condition, and if unhappy, have to pay return shipping, which would be astronomical these days.

I bought one from them 2 months ago. It's open box for 1/2 to 1/3 the price so you can't go in with the mindset of perfect and new in the first place.  Mine was in fantastic condition, better than I was expecting.

Check your local classifieds for a used Herman Miller Aeron

Try an used office furniture store, good selection at decent prices. I got an HM Aeron for $375, is. $1000 chair, best chair ever. All it needed was a good cleaning and it was as good as new, no need to worry about cloth or foam being dirty. Just make sure you get the correct size for your height and weight, the Herman Miller website will guide you.

OP, I started a thread on this several months ago but budget was not a factor. 

 

I would definitely suggest a used Aeron. Before I returned mine to my work office, I noted that the build sticker was from 2009. The chair was operating like new and only needed occasional cleaning. If you dig the aesthetic, it's THE chair you must sit in at least once. 

 

I've heard great things about the Amia, and if you're willing to stretch your budget a tiny bit you might be able to get a refurbished Leap V2 from Crandall.

I stuck with the branch ergo, supposed to ship this week, good price, great reviews, have read it is a firm seat cushion which is what I need.

I am double dipping for another 5 months with severance from old job and new job, so will just spend the money on something really nice if I don’t like it. My wife probably needs a new one anyway

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but for posterity's sake - I have an Ikea Markus and love it. Can't beat it at the price point IMO unless you find a steal on a used higher end chair. Only downside I've run in to is that the armrests aren't adjustable.

I also bought a DX Racer who was only one year in excellent condition but save almost half of the price. What is one year for an office chair is an almost perfect condition

I bought a new Herman Miller Aeron because it is one of the few quality chairs that come in small sizes.

There are many great deals for gaming chairs. And they are worth investing in. Due to their design, gaming chairs are also durable and fashionable. As the Christmas holidays are coming, I am considering buying a pink chair for my daughter. She isn't a gamer, but she spends much time at the table doing homework. Our current chair isn't comfortable at all. She got back and neck pain. Her doctor suggested we change it immediately. Yet, we decided to save money and buy something more expensive but valuable.
