Did you switch to 12g for swing weight purposes due to the longer shaft? I'm not looking to change my driver shaft, so mainly wondering if a heavier sliding weight would further accentuate the draw/fade effect. I'll have to see what TM says about the reason for offering the heavier 15g weight in Stealth2...likely due to weight freed up from the carbon sole.

More so for swing weight purposes and being able to feel the head in a stouter shaft. I do have my weight slightly toe side though where I tend to strike it and it does feel more substantial and “deep” compared to the standard weight

No....if a problem then some wide, black gorilla tape will cover that area.

How fat does one have to hit their fairway to get dirt and mud stuck in the bottom? Someone just asked the same thing about the TSR3 in that thread. I’ve never had that be an issue and I’ve had about 3000 different fairways in my bag over the last decade

I hit down on the fairway wood a bit. The old M5 fairway would have to get cleaned out regularly lol. Was never much of a sweeper

My Stealth Plus 8* face cracked a couple days before Christmas.  I submitted a warranty claim and Taylormade said estimated Delivery Date is January 18th.  Do you think there's any chance I get a stealth 2? I only say this because all retailers including Taylormade's website do not have 8* heads available for purchase. I know it's pretty much a long shot, but keeping my fingers crossed....

I have sent multiple heads to TM under warranty.  I also inquired about 8 degree heads in the OG Stealth - they are out of inventory.  I would be surprised if you didn't get upgraded.

Knowing my luck, i'm sure they'll stumble upon one and i'll be the lucky one to get it versus all the other people who also are waiting for an 8* OG Stealth head

FWIW - I gamed the M5 3 wood for awhile and I did find that grass/dirt would catch under the weight in softer fairway conditions. It got to the point where I would clean it after every shot off the turf, since I was worried that it affected the clubhead weight. That said, the M5 weight track was closer to the face than it appears with the new Stealth 2 fairway wood, so hopefully this won't be an issue. If there is a Stealth2+ 4 wood, I'll definitely be testing it out.

90% of us on here should NEVER be hitting 3 wood off the deck, 1.5 CAP fwiw.

Yup, it getting dirty should be of minimal concern. I’m scratch and don’t hit 3w off the deck but once or twice every couple rounds.

I guess I am not worried about it.  The amount of opportunities for me to hit a 3w off the deck is very minimal.  It's mainly a second tee option for me.  But, I know some people who hit a lot of fairways so I get the concern to a point.

Scratch/low handicaps also don't duff their tee shot and have 240 in on a par 4. 😁

I play my 3W at 16.5* and hit it off the deck about 1-2 times per round...either on a reachable par 5 or when I mishit my tee shot and have an open fairway to get it close to the green. Using the Scott Fawcett golf logic, I would rather hit my 3W to around the green and chip on for a 1-2 putt, rather than go 7i, PW. I definitely mishit my 3W, but even a miss will roll out 150 yards, which equates to a layup. I will not hit my 3W if I have to carry a hazard though.

Then you’d use the regular stealth2 that doesn’t have the weight track, simple.

Yes, fair enough. I'm not particularly concerned about the weight track in the new design. I was mainly responding to the idea that 90% of golfers shouldn't hit their 3 fairway wood off the fairway. I think it depends on the player and the situation.

You guys need to either stop hitting it so far with driver that you have irons into every par 5 or step up and play courses longer than 6000 so you get the opportunity to hit 3w off the deck more often!

Haha, not the length.  Typically it is the trouble surrounding the hole or my drive ending up in, let's just call it, a less than ideal lie haha.

Ball go far. Always playing over 6000 lol. Even when it’s over 7000 I either can’t/ shouldn’t go for it or pulling the 5w

My 3W is in my locker and the 5W is in the bag for this very reason.

I’ve convinced myself if they released a 4W it would be perfect, but I’m probably just mental and rationalizing a new FW.

The crown looks better with the glossy finish. That matt finish on the first Stealth was terrible.

Each to their own but I definitely prefer the matt finish look. I'm sure its awesome but I think the reflection might bother me.  What was last driver that had a glossy finish from TM?
