TM has a pretty repeatable cycle over the past few driver releases.  They start by releasing the bomber driver that's lower MOI and super low spin and more fade biased and say it's the longest driver they've ever made.  Then the following year they release a more forgiving version with much higher MOI, higher spin, higher CG location and more draw biased and call it the most forgiving driver they've ever made.

The past few releases have followed this model exactly based on the CG locations, MOI measurements, etc.

SIM to SIM2 line

Stealth to Stealth 2 line

This is my observation as well, although I'll say the Stealth Plus was a lot more playable for me than the OG SIM...Stealth Plus is fantastic

TM Stealth+ 5w at 18.25°, HZRDUS Black RDX 80 6.5, tipped 1”, 42.5”

Anyone notice the Stealth 2 (or other Stealths) going a lot of further in the heat?

My son went from last year's Rogue to the Stealth 2 this year.   Early in the spring, he gained about 5-10ish yards on the course and on Trackman, and was keeping it in play on mishits a lot better.   He played a tournament this week and was paired with a couple kids from his high school team.   They are both a year older and were out driving him by 10-20 yards last year.   Thursday's round was 85-90 degrees and he was constently outdriving them by 20-30 yards.   Friday was 50 degrees and he was paired with one of the guys again, and was consistently about 5 yards shorter than him and the other kid was hitting to about the same spots he was the day before.

I'm around 110mph with a 5-7 up degree angle of attack and am pretty low spin (inside out swing path and play a draw).  I have the Stealth 2 head in a 9 degree and play it at 8.5.  I have the Stealth 2 Plus head in a 9 degree and play it at 10.  I also swapped out the 15g front weight for a 10g and the 15g back weight for a 19g (they didn't have a 20) which helped me bump up the spin about 200-300 rpm on average on the Plus.  Net/net I might have been better off with the 10.5 head turned down, but I have what I have and it's working well.

The regular Stealth 2 head definitely fits my spin profile better, but the flatter lie angle and ability to put that weight in the full fade setting on the Plus gives me better dispersion.

I've not hit the Titleist heads for comparison.

Not sure this helps you any, but it is a data point for you.

Higher speed player here. I have now cracked 3 heads and literally cracked my latest warranty replacement within 10 swings. I've seen posts from others that have broken multiple heads. This club is the ball speed king among 2023 releases but as they say in sports, availability is more important than ability.

@TaylorMade Golf what are your plans to address the known issues with these heads among higher speed players?

Roughly 125 on course swing and can crank it up to 130 swinging real hard....Fast but not long drive crazy or someone you'd expect to be breaking these all the time.

Interesting as I’m 115-116 (up to 120 on occasion) and have had zero issues, is that 10 mph difference the breaking point?  Best driver I’ve ever had

yeah it’s the ball speed king this year +3-4 mph on other options with paradym the only contender but just not reliable enough as is.

Enjoying the S2P compared to original Stealth.  Much more forgiving and easy to keep it in the short stuff.  BUT, I seem to be losing distance due to minimal rollout after landing.  Is the S2P higher spin than last years model?  Or do I need to look for a lower spinning shaft?

I can’t speak for the original stealth but the stealth 2 plus is pretty low spin to me, especially with my shaft. It was consistency lower spin than the sim 2 with my same shaft.

Thanks.  I may need to try another shaft.   Using LA Golf Dustin Johnson sig series shaft which is billed as mid spin.  May try a Ventus or something a bit more low spin.  Thanks for the reply

Does anyone know if the back weight in the standard stealth 2 will work in the stealth 2+? I’m only finding 19g as the heaviest aftermarket option, but was hoping to find a 25g or so. Which I can find for the standard model but not the plus.

My "My Stealth 2 Plus" came in and I've been able to hit is a couple times. I got the matte finish and I also did a silver trim ring like TM did with the regular Stealth 2. I swear this head with the matte finish and trim ring makes the driver head seem bigger than the Stealth 2 Plus I was hitting (it isn't of course). This head also makes the driver shaft seem shorter???? It's the exact same shaft.....not same version, same shaft that was in my other Stealth 2 Plus head. It's bizarre how the optics can make such a difference for me.  I've got a friend that is an ophthalmologist, I think I'll ask if there is anything to it.

Stealth 2 w/Fujikura Blue Velecore 6S.  I'm continuing to like the Stealth 2 better than the OG Stealth.  I need to get the spin up a bit but these are good numbers for me at 55 years old.

And no matter how I rotate this picture before I load it, I can't get it properly oriented.  Grrrr......what can I say, I was born before computers were a thing.  🙂

I have the plain old Stealth 2. I'm 71 and swing at around 80 mph. Never been a big TM guy but this driver is damn good. I'm consistently 10-15 yards longer than my Ping G430 Max and just as straight. Great driver.

I have a friend who's a past tour pro that hits it around 165 mph ball speed. His taylormade heads never crack even when buttoned on every shot.

I'm a plus handicap at 175-183 mph ball speed, and taylormade heads crack within 15 range sessions. Sucks bc the driver feels super hot by then and you never get any real warnings when its about to crack.
