Taylormade Stealth 2……it’s happening?????? Black and Red

Mine head came 196.5 I added 1.5 grams of hotmelt.   With my Ventus Blue Velo 6S playing at 45.2 (50 gram grip +3 wraps) it came in at D4.5 on my scale a couple minutes ago.

 

With all due respect I have NEVER see TM actually hit a stated SW through their retail custom department.

I usually have them build it which ever way they see fit then fix it later.  This time when I changed my length to 45.25 (-.50") the weight option defaulted to the 20g weight, which made some sense.  When I install the same weight shaft and it has a 60ish gram midsize grip I thought it would be at around D5 not D8.  No big deal. I emailed TM and they sent me a 10g weight. All is good now. D3 sw now.

Does anyone know if TM has a tour only regular stealth2 8° that we might be able to get eventually? 
 

They’ve had 8° heads of steath and sim2 max so kinda assuming they’ll have one for steath2.

I could be mistaken but that looks like a shaft and adapter issue, not a head issue.

I have @JustinDget the head raw and add hot melt to it to get it to 200-202 grams and then add lead tape if necessary to the head depending on the shaft.  My drivers are always 45 inches playing length anyways.  I find that D4-D5 is my sweet spot thought.  Just heavy enough to feel the head on the down swing.

Glad they made it right!! 

 

I walked 9 yesterday & the club just flat out performed in Coldish/windy conditions.  Only missed 1 fairway & the miss was like 8 yards nothing bad.  I also found it to be 10 yards longer than my Stealth Plus of last year.  Same shaft, Setting, Loft, Headweight....I can't imagine what it gonna do in the summer.  Across the board this driver is an improvement over last years!

Experts, is there any truth to the old wives tail that TM Drivers with a "K" in the serial number are built better than the ones without a "K"?

The "K" thing was centered around the M2 (2017 Version) that at release was getting mediocre reviews compared to it's legendary sibling.  They adjusted something internally to make it perform more like the "K" OG M2 Heads.   In 2023 "K" doesn't mean anything in their lines.

Not yet on the usual spots (Ebay, Billy Bobs, Etc).

 

But TM does have 10, 15, 20 grams front & back weights for the S2P & they have all kinds of different round weights for the S2, S2P Fairways, & S2P Hybrids.

The custom page allows you to change the front track weight only. This differs from last year with the Stealth Plus.

 

I called Taylormade to see about reversing my selection (15g front and 20g back) and they said they do not offer back weights.

I just got a Stealth 2 and love it (with Ventus Red TR stiff shaft)

I've picked up a good 15 yds in distance AND with better dispersion than with my old Taylor Made M6 driver.

I'm a happy man!

This beauty came yesterday. Been trying to remain patient and will have to remain to until spring hits. We’ve been getting a foot of snow every week lately it seems. Cant wait to get her outside tho and start the tinkering. Absolutely loved it on the range at Carls with a limited number of shots.

Really interesting 3w. They finally made one that doesn't sit closed.  Flights it high.

I was sold after my fourth shot with it. I was getting height with it Im not used to seeing with the weight neutral. My “old” 3wd was an EXS Pro with an atmos ts black. That thing was a low launch cannon but I couldn’t believe the launch angle I was seeing with the S2 plus. The stock shaft was surprisingly solid as well. Of course I wanted something a little more stable tho while keeping a similar profile. It sits beautifully square and the feel was addicting. Damn this holding pattern of a winter.

Only simulator hits with my S2+, but I’m loving it.   I came from the standard Stealth and am finding the + more forgiving with better carry.

In theory it should. You'll just have to see how the launch/spin works out.

This sounds like great on-course spin to me.  Going lower is just launch monitor fodder.  2,600 average means that high toe shot isn't going to fall off the planet in terms of spin.  2,200 average looks great until you have the high toe nose-dive shot that only spins at 1,200

Stealth 2+ has been great for me at 8 degrees. Should stay in the bag for awhile.

You make an excellent point, which I 100% agree with. 

 

My ~2,600 rpm spin was off a launch monitor, Trackman with RTC balls to be exact. My goal was to move off low spin heads and trade a bit of high launch/low spin distance for more fairways. However, once on course, a touch of wind, moisture on the ball etc., my spin really climbed leaving me well short of my on course expectations. The learning for me is launch monitors are awesome, but actual ball flight trumps all. 

 

I did swing by the shop and snagged an 8* head. On the Trackman the 8* put me in that ~2,300 rpm zone. I'm playing tomorrow and optimistic this head will deliver exactly what I'm looking for.

Ordered the 5 wood and have dropped my 3 wood.  It’s that good!

Last week.  Took about a week.  Stealth 2 Plus with custom shaft.  Tried to love the Stealth Plus last year but no matter what I did - different shafts, etc.- it just did not work for me.  The Stealth 2 Plus is a different beast and I mean that in a good way. Big improvement in my opinion.  Long, forgiving, good looking

Warranty replacement mystealth on its way. Excited for it!

I’ve Heard plastic tees were the cause for the face damage I had. It looked like there were tiny bubbles at the bottom of the face.

 

Has the film on the face become more durable? 

If not, what tee should I be using? Don’t know if I want to use plastic this year after what happened to my OG grey mystealth

I’ve used plastic tees the entire time with last year’s Stealth Plus and still don’t have any of those bubbles on my face.
 

I think it just happens to some drivers for whatever reason. I had a friend tell me the same thing about plastic tees when he got his about 6 months after I had been playing mine.

I've found my Stealth 2 launching slightly higher than my OG Stealth.  It's not been enough that I've gone down in loft yet.
