Taylormade Stealth 2……it’s happening?????? Black and Red

Spent some time with the + and the standard heads.

 

Tested straight across with 430 LST, and found the feel remarkably similar but with the edge in feel and sound ever so slightly to TM

Performance almost identical as well.

 

I did find that the new 2.0 sits way too flat in standard setting, and loved the upright setting at 1 click lower loft.

Both 2.0 heads were almost identical in spin for me, but the regular head was a great option as well. 

Only hit about 10 balls, and this was swing 6 without a warmup and the 45.75” RDX Black 6.5

 

definitely potential, it just sucks that I now have to drop a bunch of coin on new adapters since no one around here can save them and save the ferrule, which would be very non-WRX of me to play the shaft without the ferrule.

To be fair, my smash factor hovers at 1.47 or above, so I don’t really notice anything in terms of forgiveness with any of the drivers. I usually look for something that doesn’t spin on a lower Center strike.

You can buy the ferrules separately from Billy Bob's Golf.  They're currently on sale for $1 a piece.

The actual ones on the adapter aren’t collared I believe. Or maybe they are?

The ferrules on the adapters are collared.  I've used a few in the past from Billy Bob's, and they fit just fine.  I've also had work done at Golf Galaxy, and they have a small .335 ferrule that sits nicely once it's been turned on a TM adapter if they stock one wasn't able to be saved.

Dude. The guy didn’t have to read every number for every shot. I don’t know if I would’ve picked up on it. But since you mentioned it it’s all I could hear haha.

Lol. I've watched some of their stuff before and the guy is the same way in every video. They do good reviews. Straightforward, quality player who's not too fast, not too slow. But that commentary... Oi.

Looks like numbers are pretty much the same, with the biggest reason to switch being if you want the adjustable weight track? This is what I found too. Actually, the OG stealth + was faster and had better overall numbers. Why we gotta hit them though!

The adjustable weight in s2+ is why...tune that bad boy in. For him, s+ was good. For me, it was too low spin. I like to deloft 3w and open the face. Being able to plop that weight back, and raise spin, is awesome.

Makes total sense. The extra variability is nice for those that want it! I'll be keeping my OG for now as it seemed to be giving me the numbers I want. We'll see once I'm able to take it out to the course more this spring though 😂

Some GolfWRX got treated with the S2+ box of goodies too & IMO, GOOD ON TM to treat the WRXers they see fit. I don't see that from Callaway or the other major OEMs.

Before COVID, the Pro Am entry fee for a Korn Ferry event was around $5,000.  A person I knew played in the Pro Am for the PG County Event in Maryland paid that and it included a Scotty Cameron Circle T Putter.  You can probably sell the Circle T and recoup your cost.

The last pro am I played in I got so much free gear it was stupid. Enough chrome soft x’s for 2 years at least, a new driver, tons of clothes. The PB pro am is probably the best, I bet they get a lot of stuff.

Come on, we as WRX’er need a brand new ball every 2nd hole to maximize our spin control.  Also any scuffs/sand balls will be immediately tossed as those can be defective to our precise center strikes.  We need to eliminate every variable as we are like robots.  Very strong robots.

Have the 2 plus shafted up with the orange 1k. Hit 13/14 fairways today on a 7600 yard really tight desert course in Az. It took a while to get this club dialed in but it’s growing on me. Earning a spot. 3 wood is nails.
