Cleanest Yamada I've Owned

Chanced upon this.  85029 Burning Copper.  Cleanest sole of all the Yamadas I've owned and seen.

 

Head weight is spot on 360 grams and I've now done my SOP on this ie NS Pro XXIP shaft and Rosemark grip.

What’s the sound and feel like on this putter? I really like the look of this model, but never sprung for one. Worth the money?

It's not a soft feel if that's what you're after and not clicky like how I find most otr scottys as a reference point.

 

Sound wise it has a dense like thud sound if I'm describing it correctly. 

 

For what it costs against the newer customs, I'd say its worth a go if you've not tried it.  I'd recommend only the Burning Copper range.

Beauty. That ‘burning copper’ finish is one of my favourites. Looks like a well worn penny.

There are a handful of this left handed model in burning copper, but none in this condition.

Yamada makes some really nice putters, wish there were more lefties out there mainly the Kamakura. 

 

I had a "Stick of Life" not long ago, nice but heavy and I'm not much of a CS guy.

I can see some ghosting there where a cherry bomb would usually be, do you think whatever was there was filled and remilled?

No.  The previous owner placed round red stickers as make shift cherry bombs... go figure.

I’ve had it for 10 years or so, when I was in my Japanese copper faze (I also had a set of left handed copper Epon AF-302’s). Bought it from someone in Japan on the TSG forum site. I’ve only played it out of the course twice; more of a collector’s item I roll inside from time to time. Softest feeling putter I have.

That’s one of the most interesting putters I’ve seen. Really cool design and milling details.

Yeah it was a really unique design but still a familiar look at address, nice feel to it as well. Just not a CS guy despite trying it often.

Yeah, it’s almost architectural, form meeting function kind of deal. The ramp at shaft connection is totally unique. I probably couldn’t put with it either but thanks for posting the pictures. Fun to see

No problem buying, trying and photographing a lot of these putters is fun at times.
