Nienaber for sure.  There's videos of him hitting 130 ss on a sim.  With him though, he makes it looks effortless.  I'm jealous, lol.

Popping 200+ means you need 140+ in the tank

My math was clearly off then.  So then 130 ss would equate to 190 ball speed I'm assuming.

In theory you'll be close in the 130s, but in reality you need 140+ in the tank to start seeing 200+.

 

Backspin really starts robbing you of ball speed when you exit the normal swing speed envelope equipment is designed for.  That's especially true if you're using a driver/ ball combo that was fit for a 10-15mph slower swing.

 

If you take the time to develop some real speed you'll usually find it ends up not being super usable - ie the rewards aren't worth the increased risk most of the time.

 

If I think of explosively snapping my left side through impact I can push from 200 closer to 210, but that only happens when it's wide open and I have a trailing wind.  Mishits low just balloon and don't go anywhere, left/right misses get massive, and i lose the ability to cut the ball well.

 

Tons of ball speed is great, but courses and equipment aren't designed to be played at that scale.  Kudos to guys like Bryson that can figure out a way to make it work.  I can't!

I think he’s got a Ventus TR blue 7tx in the driver , I was surprised he isn’t in the black TR
