eBay seller did not include headcover... warrants negative feedback?

bought a head-only fairway wood on eBay, item description mentioned headcover included.  item arrived and it was just the head, tried to message the seller but haven't heard back.  would you say this warrants negative feedback? feels harsh but an OEM headcover does run like $20-30

If the seller doesn’t make it right, it definitely warrants negative feedback. Item not as described. 
 

it’s strange to say HC included then not include it. They may have forgotten so definitely give them some time.

I lost a headcover a course I never play. Went into the garage and got an old one that works just as well as the lost one.

I know people are different, just my 2cents

Give the seller time.  Some sellers  (I would do this if I forgot to include the headcover) offer some money back  (don't expect $20-$30) or, they will ship you the headcover separately  (this is what I would do as a seller).

it's been about 3 days since receiving the item, in no rush so I'll give em a few more to see if they respond to the latest message

right, i don't *really* need it, it's more the principle of it and that I do consider it to be worth $20-30 when valuing a used club online and figuring out the price I want to pay.

Yeah, it's not as advertised. They didn't have to say it came with it but they chose to. I think you're going about it the right way giving plenty of time seeing as it isn't the core item that is wrong.

He literally paid for a club that said headcover included and didn't receive it. OEM headcovers are a decent chunk of change and could have been worth 10-15% what he paid for the item. Not even close to the same scenario.

 

OP I'd give him a little bit longer and if he doesn't provide it, hit him with the negative feedback.

New or used it’s likely your club head came as a demo club and so maybe never had a cover so it’s a simple mistake.

 

Should you feel your bargain is diminished then use the E-bay protocol if it’s important to you, following a no response from seller.

Give it a few more days but if he doesn’t respond file a claim. That usually gets the attention if the seller is being evasive.

titleist TSR, i think since it's newer all the used headcovers I see have been in that range

this scenario sounds very plausible, it's just odd the description included that.  if it had no mention of headcover, i would have assumed it was not included.

Is the FW head as described and are you satisfied with the condition?  You've sent an email requesting HC.  At this point, I would let it go and forget feedback

I would ask for them to send the HC, if they don't a partial refund is warranted. If both requests are ignored, I would leave negative feedback

You’d be surprised how often innocent misdescriptions occur. I’ve corrected many when I used EB.

seller got back to me, was a mistake, did not have original on hand but offered a generic replacement.  all good, appreciate the seller messaged back and didn't go radio silent.

To all of the guys saying 15-20% you are off your rocker.  Even if it’s a $300 club, including a headcover will not change the price $30. I always sell headcovers separately and my items are no where near 15% less than competing items with covers. Yes, even on Scotty’s.

well yeah, I think that's exactly why a lot of sellers on eBay will sell club and headcover separately if they can.  but from the buyers perspective in trying to assemble all the parts, 10-15% of the price is often what they need to cough up to get a matching set (assuming a $200-400 purchase).  at least thats how its been for me.

No one is talking about additional value of the ebay auction with a headcover, we're talking about if the OP had to buy an authentic OEM headcover. TSR heads going from $225-300 on ebay and headcovers are roughly $20-30.

I'm kind of surprised by the no-big-deal folks. We are talking eBay, not the BST on WRX. If you sell on ebay, you need to act professional. If I had stiffed someone an HC, I'd be spending my own money buying one so I could send to buyer and make it right. There's Buyer Protection for a reason, use it if you don't get what was promised. Otherwise, mediocre sellers stay and thrive.

Otherwise, just use your current headcover or, better yet, a generic one.  I always use generic... I don't want to advertise I've got the Callaway Para/dym or TaylorMade Stealth under my headcover.  Good way to get it lifted when I'm inside paying my greens fee.

I went back, but I didn't go back that far until after I posted.  My bad.  In any case, he should go with a generic cover.
