Huge Titleist fan and gamed the entire bag for close to 15 years. And I agree with the OP, Titleist needs to up their game with player irons. For the first time in forever I’m not gaming them in either my gamer bag or my backups that I play with once in awhile. Gamers are x5/x7 combo and fun backups are Mizuno pro 225s.

Went from original ap2s to ap3s to original t200s. Even tried the t100s but heads were too small. I’m sorry but I’ve refused to even try the most recent set of t200s due to the plastic backs. I feel Titleist went cheap and so I went in another direction for the first time in forever. Until they make a player iron with a solid back like the mizunos 225s and taylormade p790s, I’m just not going to give them my money. They should be able to figure it out. There’s been a ton of negative feedback on the t200 backs so hopefully Titleist has listened.

And believe me it kills me not playing Titleist irons after being a loyalist for like 15 years. Would love a forged player iron (perhaps a t100s that’s like 15-20% larger). Or just a hollow bodied iron that looks more like the Mizuno pro 225s would be a winner. When they do this, my 225s will be for sale:).

Take a look at the CNCPT line, it checks all the boxes.

They can’t even update the cb model. What is this 3-4 years.  Shame. Still like their wedges and putters though.

What can they do to update a cb? They added tungsten. And the cb is a more forgiving mb. If you need more forgiveness on a CB then you might as well go t100. Nothing is changing with the mb/cb line other than finish, muscle weight movement or font size.

I play blades. I just prefer my back up set of 718cbs better.

I really wish the T200 were solid backed with polymer inside!  I really like the way they look at address but can’t stand the cheap sound the polymer back makes when something touches it.

Third time’s a charm. I hope titleist figures out the T200 with the next iteration AND offers it with weaker lofts. Would buy it sight unseen.

i haven’t hit & compared them myself in detail. but from everything I see online, looks like, when normalizing for loft, T200 is a bit faster, more forgiving, higher ballflight, and less spin than t100s?

The darker section actually looks alright but after a year or more of use the darker color starts wearing off and looking pretty bad. The wear wouldn’t look near as bad if it was all the same silver finish.

Maybe it depends on how it's cared for and used.

Before being replaced by T200 2 iron, my five-year-old 2018 718 T-MB 2 iron got a horrendous amount of use, (I play over 150 times a year) still looks good too.

Good video summarizing what I mean, at same loft:

Thanks for the Vid.

I have both.  T200 clubs are easier to hit, longer and more forgiving.  Shorter irons of both are not so different, but 7i and 4i T200 are longer, higher trajectory than my T100s.

My set, T200 2 and 4 iron and T100s 5-W, same shafts.

Hit T200 4 iron off a 300yd tee and got 210yds, and I am 70+ yrs old.

Maybe so. But I still prefer this look 100x  more then the two tone.

Sorry to hijack the thread. I love Titleist irons but when it comes to hollow body irons it's hard to beat Honma.

I got no problem with what you or anyone likes.  I was just defending the club if cared for.  Here's mine after five+ years of use.

If you kept your tmb 2 iron away from other metals then it would obviously stay pristine. But walking with a full set of tmbs they will rub against eachother and cause wear. Unless you use iron covers....

LOL I walked for many years, still do when conditions allow me, only bag is on a push cart.  My 2 iron is / was kept right next to 3,4, 5 irons in the same slot; no covers, except for the golf-bag cover is always kept on cause my bag is always in the trunk.  I still play at least 2 times a week, sometimes more.  I wipe off my chosen club before use and after before it's put in the bag.

This is why I love this site.

I’ve had the T200’s since just after they were released. In that time my hdcp has gone down to near scratch. My iron play is as good as it’s ever been. I love the ball flight I get out of the T200’s and the back polymer doesn’t bother me at all.

Reading this thread you’d think the T200’s were made of concrete and Elmer’s glue and will go down as the biggest mistake Titleist has ever made.

Never change wrx.

What needs to happen…

t100 stays same, maybe cosmetic change.

t100s needs a bigger blade size. Something close to 223s, zx7s, king tours, i230s.

t200 needs to fix the back plate and it should be solid.

cbs and mbs stay the same… unless you want a cosmetic change.

I think titleist has been killing it, but really missed the boat with the t200 back plate.
