Seems promising, several firmware and software updating over the next several weeks to address the issues people are experiencing.

 

I tried today using a standard ball for the "range" mode, but no-dice 😞

 

need MORE. than 3 balls, and can't get any in the UK atm either. 😞

I got the email as well.  Nice that they will extend the 12-month free sub for 3 more free months as they work the bugs out. 

 

Prior to the email, I took my MLM2Pro to the range today at lunch.  Crappy range balls, but it read the shots well IMO.  Only a couple mis-reads out of 150 ball bucket.

Software is unbearable. No other way to describe it.

 

But, after like 6 reconnects and skipping the home wifi, it does deliver
 

Those shot shapes all look correct for me and Garmin never did. Not sure if I couldn’t consistently nail the setup with the stand or my garage for too dark or something? But like 1/4 of my shots looked like shanks instead of draws or pushes 😂😂😂

 

this felt like I was at a virtual driving range.  I have a projector. The 2D mode is interesting as well where you can watch your swing playback on the impact screen after every shot.

Yeah, even in-home to setup or whatever, I have always been doing the direct wifi connect.  No issues with it.  Connecting to house wifi was trash every time.

The first time I started the session, it disconnected very quickly once or twice. Then, like the third time, it worked perfectly, and I had no issues.

 

Then, I wanted to change from the 2-D range to the 3-D range, and it would not let me open the 3-D range, and said I had a session open.

 

I literally deleted the session and it still said it was open. I deleted the app, reinstalled it.

 

 Then I had the same unstable connection and after two or three retries, the 3-D range worked for like an hour without an issue 

 

The firmware update also crapped out two or three times, but eventually got it on like the third try

Did some quick swings in between the rain, club speed isn't bad for not swinging a club in over a month because of hernia surgery. Carry, total distance, and ball speed are definitely off

It was. I almost gave up and threw it back in the box… “Used Skytrack here I come!”

 

However, I think if you can be patient and set aside an hour to get setup, you’ll be happy. 
 

as I stated, the performance has me hooked and connectivity has to be an easy fix long term…

Numbers are definitely off, need more time only hit a couple shots. Strange im getting spin numbers with shag balls

yesterday finally updated it and used it. 
 

disconnected after 1 shot and had to reconnect every time. 
 

is there a fix?

 

in 25 minutes hit 4 shots and had a disconnect from device after every shot. 
tried on an iPhone with cellular, iPad with Wi-Fi….the device disconnected regardless after 1 shot. 

 

simulation did not even record the shot, but showed the numbers lol
 

super frustrating.

Wifi with iPad works best for me, it seems like everyone has different results one connection isn't always the best

I think extra balls should be the award for bearing with them… I’d take those over the extra return policy

When setting up my Rapsodo MLM2Pro at the start of a driving range session (marking my tee location on the map and then rotating for the direction), is there a way to zoom out a bit or pan the map in that direction screen? The map on that screen doesn't allow me to see far enough down range and sometimes my direction line is off a bit since I have to guess a bit on the direction based on some closer markers. I'd love to be able to target a flag that is 250 yards out, but the screen just doesn't show that far.

I could never figure out how to do that with my MLM. I asked support about it and they could figure out what I was talking about 🙄

I emailed them last year regarding the MLM1 as well.  Response is the "engineers are working on it".  Thinking not.

 

EDIT: Took the MLM2PRO to the range today for the 3rd time now.  Forgot to try that side video view with the iPhone, but hopefully will remember to toggle it on next time.  Impact vision is actually helpful to me.  Not as much for the one below (which is good for me) but the slices and shanks...shows the proof why the ball did what it did.

Been using the app to suggest features Rapsodo should add and they respond, pretty cool. 
 

really started to get into the weeds with this. Reshafted clubs came back. Did a DIY gapping session. The amount of data in this thing is mind blowing and doesn’t seem be discussed much in many reviews?

Definitely gonna get better with more firmware updates and features added. The accuracy is there just need more software work.

knock on wood, last two times, I used it for 2 hours on the first try with direct connection. Not sure what changed, but I can't complain at this moment?

In the future thought, I wish i would just turn it on, it knew I wanted to direct connection, and it just worked like R10. Hopefully that comes once the kinks are out and I don't have to manually connect it each time.

To be honest my only negative so far has been lack of putting which I was certainly aware of at purchase

So looks like some people who have the basic E6 license (from the Garmin R10) have been able to get E6 (iOS only) to work with the MLM2 in demo mode. Official support for E6 should be coming a little later this month. Hopefully with the E6 connector, people will be able to hack together a connector for GSPro.

Does Rapsodo specify a lighting level for the MLM 2 to get the spin and spin axis read via the camera? M+ requires 300 lux at the hitting area for face impact - which I do not meet in my garage without supplemental lighting.

Not that I’ve seen, but I noticed how dark and grainy my swing videos looks?

 

Planning to try a couple lights around the setup and see if anything changes
