Has anyone tried Seven irons?

I’ve played the Seven CB’s for almost five years.  I really like them.  They have a good feel, reasonably forgiving for a player’s iron, and have held up very well to a lot of use.  They aren’t exceptionally long in terms of distance and you do get penalized with off center shots, but they are rewarding on solid strikes.  I usually get sucked in and buy the latest driver every year but I’ve not had any inclination to switch to a different iron.  I play in my sim almost daily in the winter and on the course outside daily in good weather and they look almost new.  That said, I am pretty particular with regards to cleaning them after outside rounds and I’m a bit hesitant to admit that I use iron covers to keep them from getting beat up when riding a cart.  I figure if a person is going to spend $5k+ for clubs you may as well take care of them.  I am curious to see how jbird902’s set holds up with the DLC finish.

Why do they call the company Seven? Are they half as good as Fourteen irons? *ba dum tss*

These have peaked my interest.  Especially the MB's.  Cost is a bit outrageous and I can't find anyone in socal where I can even see them in person.

thanks!

Hey I replied to you on Tourspec but just a heads up to be careful over there.  Seven is their house brand so obviously no one is going to trash them on their own website.  I can be more open here so the deal is that the mb's are not really a players blade they have tons of forgiveness as well as kind of jacked lofts.  If you're going to spend that money I get the need to see them in person because so did I but I got sick of them quickly as they were just too bulky for what I like to look at.   I'd recommend finding a set of miuraisms if you can for the money you would spend on the seven's IF you like a real blade.  If not then maybe they are for you.

Really appreciate the honesty.  Is there a way to get a new set of miuraisms?  Some similar to the mb101’s.

thank you

Definitely not new.  I think the Miuraisms are just baby blades with a custom finish and grind anyways.  I'm not a huge Miura guy either.  In fact I don't think there's 1 be all end all brand.  Epons are great.  Masda, Tourstage, Kyoei.  I can't recommend a single brand or iron really you have to try stuff for yourself and see what you like.  At the end of the day its about dialing in your specs and your swing which is obviously a never ending battle and why golf is so great!

@kekoa I would highly recommend using https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en if your in the states to search for lightly used sets of irons or even new.  It will save you a lot of money as opposed to buying new from tourspec.  They do a really nice job as an intermediary and I've always had a great experience buying with them

Kyeoi is a completely different forging house hence a completely different feel.   Seven irons are fully cnc milled so thats a totally different process but the feel wasn't anything out of this world from my experience.  Srixon's are endo forged same as your epons.  ZX7 or ZX5's are compatible with literally any product in the kyoei or seven lineup so pick whatever you think looks good.
