I read their ball reviews, but what would be really interesting would be if they robot tested the balls that have a significant compression, weight, or size variance to see what the actual performance difference may be. I think it would be very slight, but the data would be cool to see.

You can probably guess the direction of the differences, at least.  The harder balls will likely have a higher ball speed and higher spin.  The heavier balls will travel less distance.  The smaller diameter balls will travel further.  This all assuming a single variable.  That'd be my guess.

Right, just would be interesting to see what the yardage, spin, carry distances differences would actually be. I mean 4 compression points may sound bad, but the actual difference may be negligible if even measurable.

I agree completely. I also wish they would do the salt water balance test before cutting them. It’s such a simple and telling test I’m amazed that’s not part of it. I get it’s a little more “analog” than they would like but it wouldn’t be hard to develop a system to accurately quantify and compare the results. That and the test you mentioned above would be the most interesting parts of the ball lab for me.

Just got 2 dozen of the maxfli tour x align balls. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I always like to test some of these things out. It is certainly not distracting. Also, hoping to get a little more spin out of these vs the ProV1x I have been playing. First trackman session shows that I get higher launch, more spin and higher land angle with these on Driver and irons and about the same on wedges.

Played another round with the Tour X. Starting to think this is THE ball. Played a course with a bit firmer greens than I have been playing and the ball performed perfectly. No excessive spin backs like I was having earlier.

✔️ Long off of the tee

✔️ Long off the irons

✔️ Excellent spin with the wedges

✔️ Excellent around the greens

✔️ Feel nice off of the putter

✔️ Higher overall flight, but can be flighted down

✔️ Performs well in the wind

Seriously impressed with this ball and $120 for 4 dozen is excellent.

Any prov1x players test the different maxfli balls? I was recommended the Tour off of ballnamic, I was expecting it to be the Tour X. Kinda bummed you can’t just get a sleeve to test so curious what you guys think. I prefer the extra iron spin I get from v1 x and around the greens.

You will definitely lose spin off your irons if you switch.  But around the green you may gain a little:

I bought a 4 dozen pack of the "regular" Tour on sale and love them, but want to try the X as well.  I just can't bring myself to buy more in volume until I'm at least running low on the Tour balls I have.

At least when I used to lose a bunch of balls every round this wouldn't be a problem.  Who thought hitting in play off the tee could be a curse?????

I have tested the Tour X against the ProV1x and was very impressed (I am also using the align ball which is not nearly as distracting as I thought it would be). For me, the Tour X flies higher and spins more which is what I wanted. I am trying to get closer to that 7,000 rpm spin number with a 7 iron and keep that X,000 rpm for X iron equivalency. On course, the Tour X does what I want so far and it isn't the best ball in the wind but neither is the ProV1x. Also, so far I have found the Tour X cover to be more durable but also *slightly* firmer/clickier.

Wow thank you for the insight! We have shockingly similar numbers so this is very helpful.

Send me a message with your address and I'll send you a sleeve of the Maxfli Tour X. It's interesting you can buy a sleeve of TM, Bridgestone, Callaway on Dicks website but not Maxfli....

I’d really like to try these balls out but they don’t sell them here in Canada!

I lost a bunch of them last year at Tobiano. 🤣

I played three holes with 2 balls - head to head - Tour and Vice Pro.  Pro V1 was thrown into the mix on the third hole.  I see absolutely no reason to switch from the Tour.  I imagine that a VP player would feel no reason to switch either.  You gotta figure that any 3 pc uratane ball from Foremost with a mid-80s compression is going to be just as good as the next "brand".

FTR - I was by myself and lost the Vice ball somewhere in the light rough on hole 3.  Not the ball's fault.

Played my first round of the year this morning, using the Tour S.  Compared to the AVX that I played last year, Tour S launches slightly higher with a little better carry distance with the driver, and has a little more spin with irons and around the greens.  Feels maybe a little firmer with the putter, but rolls really nicely.  I like the Tour S a lot.  I picked up some of the new AVX's with the Loyalty Rewarded deal, so I'll compare those when they arrive.
