The group in front of us was compromised of 4 more GPI members and friends of my teammates. Bill had me on his team with 2 other GPI members besides himself. The GPI members try and support all the charity scrambles at the Grove Park. They are great guys and I see myself playing with them again in the future. We had a bet our team versus Captain Black's team. We cashed in as my team was 8 under (one eagle 6 birds) and our opponents were minus 6. The winning team was my coworker Noah's team (Noah in navy shirt and all navy cap) accepting the trophy on the steps in third photo) at -18 with 2 eagles and 14 birdies! I predicted they would win. Noah is a plus 6 cap and his teammates were scratch or better. 

They won some nice gift certificates to the Resort.

My clubs live in my home office. I don’t want to leave them in bag storage because I like having my putter at home for the occasional drill sequence. If I kept the clubs at the club I know what would happen. Twice last year I had putter in home office and clubs in truck, went to course, hit #1 in reg, then missed birdie and par putts….putter still in home office. 😡

 

I'm with you MS, my sticks are with me at all times, besides leaving your clubs in a car is not good for them. Extreme cold and heat can effect the grips and the epoxy.

Our weather right now is the best -75°, no clouds, no humidity! Might be the last of 70° days, though. Got the smoker going with some filets. Will give them the reverse sear treatment. First getting some smoke on the butter and garlic herb bath, which will be used while resting the steaks prior to searing.

 

 

Will serve with jalapeno roasted red potatoes.

And the end result - spectacular meal! SO much better than dropping 2 bills at a steakhouse. Of course, I would have had a nicer plate…

My clubs do live in my car.  In the trunk... I have a sedan.  Always keep everything locked and nothing in sight in the main cabin.  Just so convenient because I'm at the course almost every day.  I will confess that I sometimes bring the putter in for practice, but I have a similar one up in the study I can use as well.  Also, if I bring my putter in I will leave it leaning against the front door at night so I can't escape the next morning without it.

I don’t care who comes out of the East. Just hoping my Stars get there! The gauntlet begins tonight against the defending champs. Dallas was 0-3 against them in the regular season. Yikes!

As I say to the hordes of Leaf fans, the only thing that counts are what goes in the net. A lot of the Avs shots were not quality scoring chances. They gave up too many odd man rushes and it cost them. Winnipeg has the better goaltender and will likely tighten up their defensive game and will not give up 6 again.

 

Now time to watch the Leafs Bruins game.

Not phish.  We are off to see Dead&Co late next month.  I hope it’s good.  There was a decent story on CBS Saturday morning about Phish and the Sphere.  I wouldn’t call it FOMO but I like the Phish attitude about it more than D&C’s which feels like a money grab in a way.

 

We will see, though I do like Vegas whether there’s a show or not.

Today was Earth Day and I'm happy that I was able to play in their golf tournament and also put something in Food Connection's donation box at the lunch that followed golf. Distributing good food to the needy is important work.

A somewhat early start to the season has taken an unexpected turn as there is currently about 6 inches of snow outside my window. The last time we've had this much snow come down in a day this late in the spring was in 1972.

Good Tuesday morning, golfers.  Today, I am a different type of sub as I fill in for a friend in the Tuesday league at our course.  I am anxious to redeem myself after my poor iron play in a tournament on Saturday.  I am guessing that I fell into the trap of over-swinging during the 4 man scramble event.  I hit some very ugly iron shots including a couple of shanks.

... Well fella's got a new driver shaft on the way. My Ventus Red Velo has performed so well but I have always been intrigued by the Autoflex shafts ever since Adam Scott and Michelle Wie put one in play. I was selected to test the Dream 7 and I chose the 405 Black and Orange version at 47gms. I have always wanted to try one but at $880 it was just too expensive for an experiment. Pretty excited about putting it in play.

Are you above the arctic circle?  I have to assume you are pretty close to it if not.  I know we have some higher elevation courses that have a season from May to mid-October while we are playing mid-March generally until the end of Oct and sometimes beyond.

I guess close is relative but in my books not. 440 miles straight line to the arctic circle from here.

 

The season usually starts around mid April and ends sometime in late October - November. Last year I played the last round on 19th of November. The issue is usually having the snow melt, not getting more of it at this point.

I decided to change it up.

 

I was committed to playing with some members this afternoon where I work. When I got up this morning I wasn't feeling that was what I wanted to do golf playing wise. I thought heck I'll be there tomorrow thru the weekend so let's instead play some place different. I sent out texts but unfortunately couldn't find a game with any golf buddies, so I called the pro at Broadmoor and told him to stick me with any group that has room for a single to join them. That's right I'm rolling the dice and will be paired up with some randoms. 🎲

I looked it up on my handicap card and saw that I haven't played Broadmoor since the 3rd week of January. I have missed this golf course. I figured why not play a flat track for a change. 

I'm here early for practice prior to my 3 PM tee time. 

The weather is spectacular. Currently it's 68* under sunny skies with 25% humidity and  5-15 mph winds . It will reach 74* while I'm out playing. ⭐

So I've traded playing with members that I know for a group that I will just be meeting for the first time. Let's see how I do and what surprises are in store for me on this lovely spring afternoon. ⛳🏌️

... I will for sure keep you guys posted. As someone with a smooth swing and transition, I should be a perfect candidate for the Autoflex Dream 7. (I tried speed training  and I think you did too?) and it just wrecked my tempo, so if I can gain yards without changing my tempo, I will be ecstatic. We have a dogleg left par 4 guarded by a lake and requires a 230 yd carry. Slightly uphill and 230/235 is around my average max carry with no wind, so I usually lay up unless I have a tail wind. If I can add 10yds of carry it would really be a game changer.
