Overalls? Why I have never once donned overalls in my life chisag. Have you forgotten that I'm a GQ dude from Michigan sir?  😄

... Indeed sartorial splendor would seem more appropriate. Fwiw, I wore bib overalls in college. It was a hippie thing in 1971.

TV series that I watched as a youngster were Rat Patrol, Man from U.N.C.L.E., Dragnet, Alias Smith and Jones, and the original season of the animated show Jonny Quest.

Johnny Quest was the first thing I watched in color.   I remember being totally mesmerized. It was like a miracle.  My Dad didn't care about a lot of things, but he needed to have a good TV.  Couldn't really afford it but one day he brought home the 25 inch Zenith color console with Space Command (remote control).  We were the bomb!

... We were lucky enough to grow up in the time of Westerns. The closest we come today is Justified. But The Rifleman, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Have Gun-Will Travel, Bonanza, Wagon Train, Bat Masterson, Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Branded and Maverick were fun viewing for a young man.

Thanks MIA, but I was living a more exciting life back in my 20's, 30's, and 40's. These days I am just trying to adjust to waking up stiff, sore, and creaky most mornings.

UGH.

If I could put it all together for an entire round I would be really happy.

Curious.  Would you settle for a round where you put it all together one day as a trade-off for the next day where you put nothing together?  I've done that early on in my golf career thinking on the good day I finally had it all figured out, this is easy.  Then humbled the next.

... Haha that pretty much describes my game right now. It all depends on how I am feeling and this last year has been a real trial. Tendonitis in my shoulder and rehab. Torn Meniscus and rehab. My twice surgically repaired back is touch and go any given day and I do my own rehab at the house. When I feel good I will usually shoot my age or under. When physical limitations arise, I am just trying to get the ball around the course in the least strokes possible and the last few years I have picked up some really bad habits that can pop up with any swing. Such is the danger of playing injured.

... That said I certainly know there are sooooo many worse off than me, and several right here in the Lounge so no cry babying from me, just stating facts. I am contemplating taking some lessons focusing on how to overcome those bad habits when they arise on the course. It seems once my body decides it's gonna protect itself and limit any torque the golf swing needs, I find it difficult to correct during the round. To be honest I am not even sure I can, but maybe some other eyes may have something I can do that is better than my body taking over and protecting itself.

We lost. And thankfully it was a not two ball bet.  $9, or 9 points.  We played a 6 and a 13, they BOTH were -1 on the back gross.

The Mrs is thinking she isn’t playing well as we go further and further behind. I explain sometimes you’re the bug or the windshield.  Yeah, bug today.

We laughed a ton.  We were that group. Jiminy Christmas golf is funny.

Probably not.  I wouldn’t want to shoot a 75 and then never break 95 again. It just seems that I’m always 2-3 working well, really it comes down to consistency or a lack there of.  Then again where I am in my return to golf journey (still hasn’t been a year since actually playing a round) I shouldn’t be or expect to be consistent every round or shot, however I am happy that I’m making progress.

I'm with you Phoenix. I can't stand red stuff or country music but Sturgill's song had a different feel. It was unique. It had excellent pace. I'm also awarding him 50 bonus points for sporting the boat slip on's while riding the mower.    😃

It's a KEDS thing.     MIA knows.

... I heard a DJ on Sirius XM that basically said "I hear folks talk about Sturgill Simpsons new LP Sound and Fury and say he has no business being on a rock station. It's music folks and music is universal. Do me a favor and listen to the whole thing before passing any judgements. And if you feel the same way after listening, you don't love music" and played one of his songs. After hearing it I looked up Sound and Fury and ended up buying it.

Almost done clearing/consolidating 10k sqft of my shop.  Still 5 loads of equipment that needs to go and i will be comfortable with my working space again.  I have to remove old lighting, run new conduit and install 20 new lights this week, run conduit and wire up my machine tools and set up my metalworking area.  Find a good spot to work on forklifts and equipment as well.  Kept most stuff out of my woodshop room.

Putting up pallet racking and loading it solo sucks.  Freed up a lot of floor space though.

@Mrgreen36

I have a question for our resident woodworking professional craftsman.

Though I have played the course at the Grove Park resort a number of times I had never been able to go inside the old clubhouse. The old clubhouse was the original Country Club of Asheville that dates back to the early 1900's. They had the lunch buffet for the Scramble on Monday inside the clubhouse so I got to inside for the first time. I was amazed the detail on the wooden ceiling beams. I ask you Mr. Green how were these made, and would you think they are original and nearly 100 years old?

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.

The popcorn ceiling texture screams remodeled in the late 80s early 90s.  So I have a feeling those aren't original.

If that was a remodel, chances are that moulding is fypon or foam based.

Most of the detailed mouldings made from wood (egg and dart, etc.) Are done via hot embossing.  Blanks are passed through a machine that the embossing wheels are on, add pressure and heat and ta-da.

Lots of that in old houses was cast plaster.

If carved wood, it would have been done on a duplicator carving machine, using hand carved one as template for all others.

Makes for a looooong winter, though I realize you aren't there all winter.  Guessing your summer golfing temperatures are cooler than Touch's.
