I have been watching your keystrokes, not your golf strokes.  I like going with the solid, major-ready (again) stalwarts. As much as I love the Akshay Bahtias and Rickie Fowlers I would never pick them for a major in 2024.

... I will never select Clark, so we have that as a buffer. As good a player as he is, I just can't stand his 2 yr old temper tantrums when things don't go his way. I think anyone that gouges out a huge chunk of earth after a bad shot should do community service planting tres for a day. Other than Scheffler, I am not sure of my picks yet.

Koepka could be a replacement for any of my guys.  Gotta see how his game is shaping up.  Clark is a bit of a loose cannon but still a very good stick.

... Oh yea not picking Clark is the ole cutting off my nose to spite my face. I will also never select another liv player. I chose Rahm against my better judgement for the Masters and it left me with a bad feeling. I'd rather lose than select any of the mutineers. Just a personal thing so no judgement on others that enjoy liv or want to pick one of them.

Also, Rory has won at Valhalla before, so he could be a replacement.  Apparently the course suits him.

Not a liv fan at all, but I've got to go with the best (already solid) golfers at the moment.  The Blue Chips, if you will.  Not quite how I play the stock market, but I do have a few blue chips in the portfolio.

PGA picks? Man, it's such a weird year where all the big names - with the obvious exception of Scottie - just ain't showing up anywhere. But he's got that kiddo coming any time. So Imma go a little nuts here ... and I feel like the PGA is where the unexpected happens most. So ...

- Jake Knapp (I dig this kid)

- Sahith Theegala

- Ludvig Aberg

- Akshay Bhatia

- Will Zalatoris

Don't wanna see Willy Z lead to my alt ... but if I have to ...

Fun NC story incoming.

image.png.d414b3384120b49c9d01540955cb6d15.png

So the fella second from left is my old pal Robbie. He was actually my older brother's friend but we totally hit it off. Just one of the funniest and most kind fellas you'll ever meet.

Summer of '96, I'd decided to cut off most of my long hair and ... bleach what was left. Also had quite a bit of metal in my face at the time ... literally. I had my own phone number in those days - big deal living with the parents - and not many had the number. It rings one Friday night and it was Robbie.

"Dude, I'm playing in a tournament tomorrow, my partner can't do it ... can you?"

"My man, I am THERE."

It was a lot of guys older than me so they didn't really know who I was or my game. (Yall didn't pay attention to Harnett County High School golf?!?!?) It was at Carolina Lakes; a course I'd played a million times. You could say my actual game was developed on that course. It's also where my meltdown happened that destroyed all my dreams of being pro one day.

You can see what Robbie said. We're still #TeamWorm

I miss that boy a whole bunch.

What is he rolling the rock with? Dad's vintage Ping Anser?

Glad his fondness for the game is growing.

I'm with chisag, I like his posture and spine angle it's great, but I agree that his right hand position is too strong.

What a fine Sunday evening activity.

I've showed him, he has a club with the grip grip thingy 😆, but right now he says it's comfortable.  I asked if it was comfortable to come over the top and trap the ball 50 yards left.....he didn't have a good answer.  😆

About 8 months into actually golfing.

Old Berillium anser with a sound slot.  Saving his newer ping anser Scottsdale for when he's taller.  Didn't feel bad cutting the old anser down. He has requested some lead tape to make it heavier though.

Smart kid. Definitely add a few strips to it. Those baby's were really light, 260-300 grams.

Our drummer's preshot routine every time he hits a tee shot with an iron on a Par 3.

It's got to be because of all the years with the other sticks.  😃

... Kids usually have the ability to adjust on their own when they get poor results. Comfortable is really important for a young beginner. Just gotta say again his address position is fire. I spent a lot of time with kids getting them out of a bad address posture (mostly from parents or watching video's). The one thing I loved about teaching kids is they don't have the strength to muscle the ball so they develop real "swings". I think it goes without saying so I will say it  😇  having fun is by far the most important thing. Something I am sure you already know.

My cap is perfect. Still a 6.  I can gamble as a 6.

This morning we grabbed the car, and I was pretty sure the BAC wasn’t 0.  I also knew I wouldn’t be able to maintain.  When you start at zero it’s easy, but today would a tough tightrope.

150 on seventeen.  I was only 40 yards short.  Not sure how the ball even went forward, must be my pure swing.

Ended up two over.  I was even heading into 17.  Ugh.

He does have a good set up/address.  I've explained to him that the entire golf swing starts with the correct set up.  This is the most determined I've ever seen him.  He is learning patience and has realized that putting and chipping practice is the quickest way to drop a bunch of shots.

He's about 7 months into actually being serious about playing golf.  Playing a match this Tuesday at a par 3 course.

He wants to break 50 on 9 this summer.  He needs to drop 10 shots. Putting practice would shave all those off.
