Man, it’s a gorgeous spring day in Texas today! Not a cloud in the sky, probably 75° with a slight breeze. Listening to some tunes and hitting into the net in prep for a round on Monday with a fun group. I’d normally pull the cover off the pool around this time, but we’re heading out of the country to visit our daughter and SIL in a couple of weeks, so I’ll leave it in until we return.

I also know from other threads he has a terrific grill/smoking setup and great liquor! As soon as I read he was headed outta town in a couple weeks I booked my flight! 😜

... Two things I hate about Ebay is a high reserve. Why not just start it at your reserve price? I bid on a club last year and won the auction but didn't meet the reserve, he resisted and the winning bid was $50 more than mine and still didn't meet the reserve. The other is the shill bids for the big sellers. I'll be winning and at the last minute another bid beats me and I look at their bidding profile to see 74 bids in the last month and every single one of them with this seller. Item is back up for sale the next day. Ebay makes a mint off these guys so they don't care.

... Amen, so much wildlife in the desert. Coyotes must be full because Aguila has become a virtually rabbits warren this year. Also a ton of Quail that are silly fast and get tired of me telling them "You know you guys can fly right?" but their songs echo on the course for the entire round. The roadrunners know me by ratting my ProBar wrapper and I feed them organic nits and berries every round. And there is one squirrel near the 12th tee that eats off my shoe.

I have a quail story from the first time my grandfather took me hunting. He taught me how to shoot a shotgun by throwing clay pigeons with a hand sling. I was around 10 and was a decent shot with a 20 gauge. My grandfather had several field trial bird dogs and he was more into competing with them than he was hunting, but I bugged him enough that he took me out with the dogs. He knew I was an animal lover even at 10, so he was afraid that I wouldn’t actually shoot the birds. The dogs started pointing at a large brush pile and he sternly told me to shoot once he had the dogs scare them up. Well, instead of flying, they ran along the trail that we were on and I started blasting away, right about where my grandfather was standing. Luckily, I didn’t hit him! 
 

He never took me hunting again.

Glad I'm not the only one who talks to animals.  I converse with the deer on my front lawn and I bunny whisper to the rabbits.

i talk to them too, but it’s mostly yelling at the foxes and coyotes to get the hell away from my chicken coop.

Ha! My parents property sat on the edge of a few hundred acres of preserved woods. My day became very friendly with all the critters as he got older

He hated them, not sure why. But they would make a nest wayyyy up this huge pine tree and he’d climb all the way close to the top with a garden hose and spray them 🤣. Then he took this neighborhood kids bb-gun and tried to assassinate them! 🤣🤣

 

Never really found out why he hated them. He liked all other wild creatures. Even wasps he didn’t mind. One time we went up to visit in summer and there was a huge wasps nest hanging right off a first floor gutter!

 

I was like, dad, they gonna kill mom when she’s gardening, I’m getting rid of them!

 

Hes like…go ahead. 
 

So, I get compound bucket and a baseball bat, (I was very drunk at the time 🤣) and I go sneak over and I’m about to knock the wasp nest into the bucket. I look over to where everyone was sitting outside, family and friends, and they are all standing, looking at me with fear in their eyes and ready to run away and abandon me!

 

But it did it! Knocked the nest into the bucket, slammed the lid on, took it into the woods, chucked it, and ran my @ss off back to the house and ate 🍔 🌭 😊

So in the first chart a 5.0's to 9.9's in his 60's should be driving it 217. I hit my drives 220.  A MATCH

 

In the second chart 5.0's to 9.9's in their 60's hit 54% of the fairways. I average a touch better than that so CLOSE MATCH. 

 

Any other Lounge friend want to tell us if the numbers above are a pretty close representation of your game for your age and ability?

the driver distance chart for my age and handicap is only off by about…100 yards 😂😂

 

the accuracy chart is closer, but still a little low. it has my group at 40% and i hit right around 50%. hoping to improve that number this year, but if i really wanted to get it up over 60% i’d have to hit a lot more 4 and 5 irons off the tee.
