It’s about time! At very least put one of those warning labels on it like cigarettes have.

At this rate we are going to have warning labels on everything, only real one we should follow is on the politicians.  Something like “I have done nothing for decades and won’t change anytime soon, but really value your vote”

 

So pizza is ok if you don’t partake in bathing suit season correct.

US WOMEN'S OPEN POOL

 

Choose 2 players.  Whoever chooses the highest finisher wins!  That's it...pretty basic really.

 

For example, LP has Korda(T2) and Olsen (MC) and I have Hull (T5) and Hall (T5).  He wins because his highest finisher was higher than mine.  

 

Please list your players complete 1st and last names (no nicknames, no one-names, full names please).  This will avoid any controversy.  Players may be on more than one team.  Using LP's team of Korda/Olsen, it is acceptable for Chisag to have Korda/Danielle Kang.

 

If both of your players miss the cut, I'm sorry.  You made bad choices, and you cannot win.

 

20 points will go the winner.  In the event of a tie, your 2nd choice will be the tie breaker.  If still tied, a split of the points will occur.  

 

You must have already scored points in the year-long Lounge Contest to enter.

Aw man, love my Traeger. (Got the lil Pro 575 cuz I rarely cook for more than myself and Ms aenemated) Used to use an old Holland Grill - NC style smoker that used to be manufactured in Holly Springs, NC. Prolly had it for 20 years but parts finally started failing and the company had gone under (though I think I read they're back) so I couldn't get replacements anymore. So ditched it when I moved back to Vegas and picked up a Traeger. 

 

I can appreciate the effort that goes into doing it "the hard way" cuz I used to do it but damn, sure ain't gonna complain with how easy it is to maintain the right temps with a Traeger without having to monitor it constantly - especially when doing a low and slow pork shoulder.

Totally agree. The big one for me is when I do a brisket or large pork butt that needs to be smoked for 14+ hours… Just put it on before going to bed and good to go! With my old smoker I’d have to get up at like 2/3am 😩

In other news, my luck ran out today with generally non-windy days at Paiute. It was out in full freakin force this afternoon. I dunno the numbers but we're talkin sideways flagsticks. The fairways - while super lush - are pretty firm, greens are crazy firm (I always chuckle at the "Please Repair Ball Marks" signs around because I'm like "What freakin ball marks?" Could drop a ball from the thermosphere and it ain't leaving a pitch mark) and seriously the only truly penal rough of any course I've played in this town.

 

And since there's nothing but Joshua Trees out there, it's tough to judge what the wind's REALLY doing. In NC, we'd look at the top of the trees to get an idea - no such thing out there. 

 

All that to say; despite striping it off the tee all day ... didn't hit all that many fairways. Didn't hit a single "bad" tee shot ... just when it'd get up in the air, it was like "Welp, let's see what happens." 

 

Scrambling didn't go so great and carded a not-so-pretty 42. Ugh. Dunno if some of the irons work I've been doing added some distance or what but I kept missing long. And missing long out there is death. Dialed things back a little on the back and was even through 14 ... till I left the face open a lil bit off the tee on 15. On a normal day, it'd just been right rough - today? Ball prolly wound up somewhere near Tonopah and doubled it. So I was like "Well damn, streak of breaking 80s prolly over today." Parred 16, my favorite par 3 in this whole state. 17 is a shortish uphill par 5 on normal days but today, dead into the crazy wind so playing way longer. Solid drive up the right side leaving about 200 in, probably playing more like 220 with the wind and elevation.

 

The idea was to just go toward the middle of the green, expect it to be short and just try to get up and down for birdie. Pulled the ol' 7W and proceeded to just smoke it ... wind got ahold of it, of course, and it wound up pin high but about 15 yards left of the green on a sharp downhill lie in that silly rough. Bonus? Short sided. So I was like "Well sh*t ... just get it somewhere on the damn green."

 

Pulled my 60°, put a Phil-like long swing on it ... goes straight up, straight down ... right into the cup! Dunked it 😂 This was me ...

 

 

18's my favorite closing hole out there. Nice lil 2 putt par there to keep the streak going with a 78 thanks to a lucky AF pitch in. Good way to wave bye-bye to actually playing golf for a few weeks! 

 

Oh, and on the earlier comments about right wrist extension - I weakened my right hand grip a little while warming up on the range and found it a lot easier to keep that extension (or bowed lead wrist, however you wanna look at it) I used to have a stupid strong grip; like Paul Azinger strong. I've worked it back to strong-neutral but strong can creep in with my right hand getting too much on the side of the grip. Making that pretty tough to do - for me, at least. So really just getting that right hand more on top kinda sets it in extension to begin with. So kinda "strong weak." I think Rahmbo does something similar?

I went to my first TJ's when I lived in Scottsdale. I was instantly hooked. We have one here in the AVL and it's up in the north part of town. It is close to CCA so sometimes on the way home from golf I pick up a few of my favorite items of theirs. 

 

Tonight's dinner was TJ's Chicken Piccata. 

I make some basmati rice and steam frozen petite peas to go with.

I enjoyed this wine with it.

I got rained out at Coyote Springs last year! Since it's so in the middle of nowhere; it was one of those where you can see the rain coming off in the distance and you're just like "Stay there - STAY RIGHT THERE, RAIN!" It didn't. Good ol' Vegas monsoon storm. 

 

And nah, actually haven't played out in Primm. For no other reason than it's quite a haul there from where I am. But seeing them photos, might have to suck it up and make the drive - Lakes looks gorgeous!
