... This is one of the reasons I have zero respect from Koepka. If he made a business decision to part ways with Wolff because he was under performing that is certainly understandable in sports. But since Wolffs mental health issues are well documented, letting him go with some grace and tact would seem the minimum requirement, but those are two things Koepka doesn't possess. "Matthew Wolf has been a great team mate and it's always tough to make a change. But this is a bottom line business with winning the goal and we have decided to go in a different direction. I wish nothing but the best for Matthew in life and golf and sincerely hope his game turns around". 
 

Instead Koepka says:

I’ve basically given up on him—a lot of talent, but I mean the talent’s wasted.”


Wolffs response:

“I read the SI interview with our Captain Brooks Koepka and it was beyond disappointing to me. When I chose to join his Team in 2023, I did so with much optimism about my new home as part of Team Smash and equally as important the chance to be around and learn from a player of Brooks’s stature. Like everyone who has ever played the game at the highest level, I have had competitive moments in the past that I feel I have let myself down and even others in our new team environment. This has been quite difficult for me. My challenges on and off the golf course with my mental health has been well documented. I deal with those challenges every day.
 

“However, while my 2023 season has not been all I had hoped for to this point, I have made positive strides in managing my life and feel Ike my game is turning for the positive. To hear through the media that our team leader has given up on me is heartbreaking. It’s not what a team member looks to hear from its leader, and I think we all know these comments should have been handled much differently. But I’m moving forward and won’t ever give up on myself. While on course results may not appear now to be positive indicators, I’m trying to win an even BIGGER game with my life.
 

“Finally, I trust Brooks wants what is best for our team. But it’s hard to imagine his comments in his recent SI interview in any way line up with those priorities. This will be my last comment on this matter. I’m heading out today to the Centurion Club trying to help our team win this week. I appreciate everyone’s continued support and your respect for my privacy.”

... While most Tour greens roll fast and true, the rest of us have to putt on imperfect greens. I think most everyone would benefit from some type of roll technology putter face. I am using a SIK face putter and it rolls very well on these bumpy afternoon Bermuda greens I play.

My question is why now?  One of the articles I glanced over mentioned that Wolff had been removed from the team since before June.   

 

Honestly - I don't know what to believe in the realm of professional golf other than people are trying any way they can to make the most money possible with little regard to the larger picture.

An older gentleman and I were discussing Deep South heat + humidity relative to Desert Heat + Dryness.  Both of us agreed that neither is enjoyable, and he ended it with a great line.  Well, it simply depends on whether you'd like the be braised or roasted as your means of being cooked.  He was not wrong.

Well it was definitely braised for my round yesterday! Forecast called for some of the lowest temps we’ve had in awhile, with a high of 93°. But the humidity was up. We still enjoyed the round. I birdied the first hole and went downhill from there! Putting was my nemesis on the front, with 3 3-putt bogeys. After a burger and beer at the turn, nothing went right. I knew it wasn’t going to be a good scoring day when I had a chance to save par after escaping from jail in the trees. Just needed a close wedge shot from about 50 yards to a pin that was about 10’ from the front of the green. I hit what I thought was a perfect 60°, that was going to drop just off the front edge and roll down the slight incline near the hole. Imagine my surprise to see my ball hit and bounce 20’ in the air, carrying to the center of the green. It had come down square on a sprinkler head.

BTW, @chisag, inspired by your avatar, I purchased a hat similar to what’s in your photo. Even though it felt like I was wearing a sombrero, I have to admit I enjoyed the extra shade!
