Another late day practice session begins now.

 

My swing felt sluggish yesterday so I'm back to see how it is today. I have my team scramble two weeks from tomorrow. I now will make extra effort to practice in the days leading up to the tournament so I can contribute a few shots. 

 

Since we are talking irons this weekend here's a set of good looking ones that perform very well. 🙂

... Yea, the 990B's were pretty much just MB's. I played the 990B's for a brief period but cast from 431 stainless they felt so "crisp" which is a term folks use that don't want the negative feedback for saying "harsh".

Yeah, even the Titleist forgings are a bit “crisper” than my ideal. I mentioned it before. But seriously thinking my next set will be the Proto Concepts from Japan. Endo forged, now that more like butter 🧈 compared to Titleist

... I loved playing P790's in the soft midwest conditions but they didn't spin enough for me on hard desert greens. Great irons and I really enjoyed them, although I wish they would make them with 4* gaps. Most modern Players Distance irons use 5* gapping. Same issue I had with my Cobra Forged Tecs.

Remember to make an effort to enjoy the rat race that is back to school shopping because you'll probably miss such chaotic schlepping about the first autumn they are all grown up and gone.

One thing I will agree w/touch on is, enjoy this  time no matter how frustrating it can get. You will look back one day and remember it fondly 😊

... Of the several irons I wish I never sold the Endo forged Tour Stage Z101's are at the top of that list. The feel was perfect and image the Proto Concepts will be really sweet too. I have to thin my herd so adding irons isn't in the cards for awhile.

Those 760s are money. I remember reading it’s still the fav amongst a couple TM staffers.

The Forged Tech Cobra reminds me a lot of TM 770s

... Yea 760's are really nice. Great combo set of solid pw-8 and foam filed 7-4 with a thicker face so not a distance iron. After playing the MIM Tours and the best feeling irons I have ever played, I just never warmed up to the Forged Tecs.

One thing about me, I take my kids everywhere with me. Work traveling, job sites, factories I work in, every supplier I visit. My girls always wanted to pee in a bucket in my jobsite trailer for some reason when they were little. 😆

Talking about irons, I picked up a used set of i59s. They don't get much love, but they are as close to a blade without the massive drop off of blade mishits.

I had a cooker like that in fact it is mine and my Cousin's together. LOL have not visually seen it in 25 years now. A lot of us used to let the air out of the tires on site to stabilize the cooker and to keep drunks from pushing it off. No problem just reinflate off a portable air tank. I did not comment because it was SOP for us and I thought everyone knew that

Those Tour Stage irons were awesome. When I was doing a bunch of club building back in the 90's a guy sent me his set all the way from Britain to reshaft. I thought the guy was nuts but he was happy so I guess all was good.

... That's awesome! I bought some Tour Stage MR23 US Specs first and they cost $1200 which was about double the cost of most forged irons at the time. They were really over of my budget and feeling guilty I sold them for a $100 profit and bought the Z101's that I liked better anyway.
