I don't love the JT pick, but I will watch regardless.  I suspect Speith and he do well together and I suspect there was some internal requests.  Afterall, for the next two months we will be hearing about how they play ping pong and walk each others dogs during their team building exercises.  I like the Rickie pick, he seems to legitimately care and he has played well this year.  Glover?  He is hot, but we have a while before everything goes down so will he be again?  Who knows?

Got a little input on my not bad, but not good putting, and will see if it works this weekend and I have to say OK is the most unlikely of places (in my mind) for Franks and Deans to play.  I tend to think of OK as a place where new country rock goes to die.

Sometime when I don't have to type on my phone I have a good story about playing there back in the day.

I honestly don’t really ever think about Oklahoma. But when I do it’s usually the image of former “adult actress” Jesse Jane getting arrested and pissing herself there while wearing an OU shirt.

... One of the things I find so frustrating in todays 'Murica. I believe I have heard you state you may completely disagree with someone else's stance but you defend their right to have that stance. That's a Patriot because democracy is founded on different stances. There is a reason we have Presidents from one party then the next and back and forth it goes. Seems today far too many think if you don't have the same stance as they do, you aren't an American and that is as far from a Patriot as you can get.

... I view the Ryder Cup as Faux Patriotism mostly because all these guys are on Tour together and then all of a sudden they are enemies? I am supposed to pull against Rory and for red hat wearin' Brooks? Ummmm no. It was one thing back in the day to have the Americans on the PGA Tour play the Europeans on the European Tour but those lines are so blurred now they don't really exist other than the fake hype for the event. Then you had Reed acting like what the ignorant rest of the world thinks Americans act like and who could blame them? Same with the Solheim Cup. When Linn Grant plays anyone but Nelly, I am pulling for Linn because I appreciate great players and great golf, not the color of their wardrobe.

I am in your corner there--- I like watching great golf and could give 2 hoots less what country the player is from. I can remember when my old man criticized me for pulling for Seve because he was a " ******* foreigner"  The 86 Masters was tough for me because I liked Jack and Seve. I used to like Rory until he became mouthy especially about Phil which IMHO ain't none of his frigging business. As for the LIV thing I went publicly on here and the other place we go and stated politics be dammed I liked watching it. I also publicly on another thread on here stated that Brooks was an American and reminded folks the Ryder Cup was USA versus Europe not the PGAT vs DP World Tour Vs LIV. And after all the crap that has went on involving Phil and who knows what is true I still like to watch "Phil The Thrill" play because one does not know what will happen next.

One thing about it you and I have been friends for quite a while and have had a difference of opinion at times. It has always been civil and we have remained friends. That is the way real men and real Americans act

Hey @bscinstnct you and the Mrs. gonna go catch any of the US Open? You’re fortunate to live close to one of the premier events in the sporting world.

Yo, we went a couple of times years ago just to check it out, neither of us is much into tennis 🎾. It was cool to see and walk around and get good lol. We saw sarena in a very early match.

Oh and we were surprised that if literally one drop of rain falls, the players like put on jackets and like run 🏃‍♀️ inside like tye world is ending 🤣

Ya you and @chisag got it, the patriotism on the RC is totally contrived . I mean, they all live next to each other in Florida 🤣

Plus, besides the fact that the concept of “euro” patriotism is silly seeing how they spent the better part of the past 2000 years trying to destroy each other,

The US is allies with all of Europe lol.

The true patriotism manifested in sport toward an actual enemy was like

IMG_2721.jpeg

‘patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel"- Samuel Johnson

Patriotism is another fine word that doesn't mean what it used to like " brother" and " community"

International sport has become a joke

Anyone who lives in the US should play for the US

Just getting an engine prepped to put back together. So much cleaning, so dirty.

I wish this was anything besides a Toyota 5r. I could have bought a reman 4y for 1900 bucks. At least double that to rebuild this 5r

20230830_160653.jpg

I never messed with a 5R. When we ran Toyota on Dirt in Modified 4 cylinder I messed with the 2TC 1600cc and the 3TC 1800 CC. We also dabbled with the 20r 2000cc and the 22r 2200. We sold off all the Toyota stuff and ended up running what we called Japanese Mopar with the 2000 and 2600 Mitsubishi engines. It was a pure economical move for me. I sold out on the Toyota end and ended up with enough money to buy 3 Japanese Mopar teams. I had enough spare parts and equipment I did not rally spend a lot for 5 years on parts. Most of my outlay was on machine work on heads and intake. It had gotten so technical there on the rules it paid to have a professional do it. I did build my own align bore machine and cylinder boring machine. I also did all my rod alignment boring and rod boring for floating wrist pins

The parts are hard to find. Specifically the valve guides, intake valves and seats.

I've gotten too familiar with Japanese engines from the late 80s, yale and hyster put mazda FE and F2 in a ton of lifts, lots of mitsubishi 4g54, 4g63 and 4g64s in clark lifts. Still have same issues they had back then, just complicated by lack of maintenance being in a forklift.

A question for you Mrgreen.  Do you do spend about the same amount of time each week with your repairing of machinery and as you do custom woodworking?

I'm not a bike person but I can admire their beauty. This one is boss. I especially like the exhaust pipe. The Black Widow looking rig was at the driving range earlier this week. I know a few of you are Harley Owners/Fans so I snagged the photo. The owner was pulling the trailer with his F-250.
